I find it humorous that so many are pissed with June 6th but so many were either okay or excited for May 25th. A grand 12 day difference.

i am no exception, i felt sad hearing a 12 day delay, because i am so excited for hoi4 even one day delay would make me sad at this point. but at least we have a day!- 3

I understand that, I'd like the game as early as possible too. But a bunch of fans dug that may 25th date up, the devs didn't announce. So there was really no delay. And since Warhammer TW is releasing on the 24TH, in all reality, HOIIV couldn't have released then. June 6th is probably the earliest time they could fit it in there, since the press and players are all either going to be talking about "Warhammer a success! Greatest total war! Buy now!" or "Warhammer is a flop! CA is the devils spawn! Burn their office!" as most total war releases tend to go these days.people are impatient, angry creatures

Hmmmm. It feels good to finally have a release date but I can't help feeling a little bit underwhelmed in that it's still a few months away. When Johan was talking about how he and his team are so proud about the product they had created blablabla I couldn't help but getting hyped about an april-may release because it seemed they were practically done because of the way he talked about it. Anyway, I guess I shouldn't complain so much. June isn't THAT far away and they can use the extra time to fix bugs and polish the game. Looking forward to it!

This whole game shouldn't have been announced until like a month ago, put it that way. We all could have been blissfully ignorant thinking the next hoi was like a year off, then bam, there it is coming very soon. The early renounce was on their part a big mistake because we all want it now. But at least it's coming soon.

Don't think pdx planned the unfortunate consequences that led to this delay
Yeah, they had lots of ambitions that sadly proved way more time-consuming to implement than anticipated. For example, I think they threw out the whole battle planner system several times, if memory serves. Luckily PDX has money and resources now or it could very well have become one of those "looked great, but was sadly cancelled" stories.
(But yeah, they've admitted they announced too early.)
