Indian soldiers in an Mahindra & Mohammed Jeep
They pass the overrunned Japanese stand now. Gaspard sits in his M&M Jeep and watches the devastation. Indian has blown up every bunker, most of the houses are still burning. This was a small village before the Imperial Army converted it into a camp along one of the few secure ways, fitting for a whole army. The area around is fairly impassible, so the Japanese general chose this position to engage the Indian invaders. But he didn't expect another army as big as Gaspard's to advance from the south to cut his way to the south. So the Japanese fled in a mad rush and Baga-Leon only smoked the small concentrations out, while set the main base under artillery fire. Maybe his engineers will find something useful left behind. A ungraceful work, regarding the disrupted human parts that are scattered all over the camp.
The matter for hurrying ahead was, that some regional rebels attacked the Japanese ordnance trek. Gaspard immediately ordered some agile troops to support them - with success.
Now, he wants to check the capitulated soldiers.
After three hours of driving, they finally arrived at a mossy craggy pass. Around 500 Japanese soldiers are lying with outstretched arms and the face to the ground just before the pass, guarded by armed peasants, wearing the traditional hats out of palm leaves. General Baga-Leon wonders, how long they might were lying there now.
The jeep enters the pass. He can't see corpses, so they must have been taken away.
The vehicle stops and Gaspard jumps out.
A Vietnamese Revolutionary Rebel
Several trucks stand across the pass, some few are in flames, the rebels did excellent work as most of the material seems to be in good condition. Gaspard gets reminded on his own Guerrilla time in Northern Cameroon. He takes a look up to the cliffs. On the second sight, he realizes, that the rock was caved like Swiss cheese. Everywhere are some peasants with guns, sitting around fire-places, cleaning their weapons or bandage wounds. From everywhere the sound of their weird language sonics down to him, creating an cacophonic chaos between the abandoned trucks. Everybody was looking at him because of his black skin when walked through the pass. But there was only one who walked determined over to him.
Gaspard need a while until he remembers the face – it has been a while.
Ho Chi Minh has gotten older since he last saw him in Paris.
The Vietnamese revolutionist leader smiles.
”Nice to meet you, Comrade Gaspard!”
His French speech is fresh like always.
”So we are already in Annam?” Gaspard laughs and hugs the much smaller Vietnamese.
”Well, maybe you are already in Vietnam” Chi Minh accents the last spoken word and raises an eyebrow.
”I think there is much to speak about, me and this men will join your army, so we'll have enough time to speak about some things that are close to my heart. I bet you can imagine what it is, I know that – and I am proud of course – that you had listen to me in Paris in former times. Well, this things got concrete now, because of you!”
The emotional sense of Ho's words make Gaspard becoming nonplussed. He hasn't get his famousness among communists and socialists yet and this Vietnamese was his idol once upon.
”I...so shall be it. It a great honor, that you'll join us!”

Manchurian front
The Japanese resistance was tougher than the Union's general staff had thought.
All efforts to get back Mukden failed, until General Li Xiannian approaches with his army from the north. Together with Lin Bao's army as spearhead and Zhang Xueliang's army from the south, they beat the Japanese forces at Mukden on the 1st of December, just before the frost grabs whole Manchuria.
Xi'an sent some more units to finally break Japanese reign on the mainland. The main force is led by Li Zongren, which is made of mountain troops only.

General Deng Xiaoping has followed the fleeing Omani Royal forces and engaged them at Mukalla, where they were supported by the approaching Yemenite Royal Army under the command of General Slim. After a tough fight on the 30th of August, the Royal troops were forced to retreat again.
Meanwhile, three American divisions disembarked in Doha. Deng left the Indian armies behind to keep the Yemenite border safe, to engage them. The short battle took place on the 27th of September and was quite easy to win, as the American supply lines seemed not to reach so far.
In the morning of the 12 of December, Deng ordered the attack on the last stand of the sultans in Sanaa.
The battle ended with and defeat for the Revolutionary forces after more than two days of hard fighting.
Exactly one week after the defeat, Deng tried again, this time with success, because of the Sultans' lack of soldiers.
