Hi,

[index free space]

this will be the sequel of my first AAR, so you should read this first for understanding.
I made an extra thread, because I changed the country, which wasn't planned.

New revolutionary country will be India, which was freed after the British Empire has been jolt by socialist uprisings.

Whats changed?!
I used some flavour events I made to get things in the direction I wanted it to be. Furthermore, I add new ministers, as Paradox implement very few communist or socialist ministers and leaders and apart from the Cameroonians they are all historically correct (most of them got Wiki entries if you need more infos about them)
For India I cut out everything that doesn't fix to communist state -> all english ministers, leaders and tech teams.
I left all others, because India's current provisional isn't socialist at all.

First post will be today, please be patient :)

Onwards to world revolution!

Introduction
Brother in Arms

Gaspard sits on his bed, as usual.
On the streets he would be too noticeable, with his black skin – and there were many people who wants his death. Masses died because of him, some fight against, some with him. Walking down the Boulevard de la République, would transform him into an mark for assassins of different origins. Some months ago, he was the General Secretary of the Union des Populations du Cameroun, the ruling party of the Peoples' Socialist Republic of Cameroon. He survived its rise – and its fall. Challenging the United Kingdom was honorably defiantly, after the end of this war without neutrals, the former Empire will only be a shade of the state it was used to be. World Revolution continues – without Gaspard Baga-Leon. After the American forces landed in Port Harcourt, he joined the trek to the north, through the Sokoto State to the French realm. Even if this is neutral territory, they'd expected dive bombers every time.
This was the start of Gaspards long silence, at this time, nobody spoke much, but it will hold on till Khalids visitation on the 28th of April, 1944. In fact, he does spoke, but extremely rare.
Few recognized them, and those who did, either frowned astonished or their mien turned dark.
To be not associated with the deserters, Khalid and Gaspard sneaked out of the camp on an early morning. They made the final leg right through the desert, to skip Morocco, where Spanish frequently appear. Arrived in Algiers, they are nearly out of money. Fortunately, Khalid found some of his old fellows fast.

The reaction of the Algerian officers was one of the few things they discussed on their journey, but they hadn't expected that they will be welcomed such open-hearted.
Many French officers antagonize Petain for his faineance and now sympathize with the socialists. Not because of their communist attitude, but to bring France to what it was before German aggression. While the moderated rally around general de Gaulle, the socialists around pro-SU Thorez the colonials got their own dreams, especially in Algeria.
In this struggles, revoluzzers like Menad were people to listen to, so Gaspard and he got some accommodations to hide in.
Here he first heard of Josephe's death arriving in Algiers, together others who died or where missed.
Revolutionist Mandela failed to overthrow the Ossenbrandwag reign in South Africa and missed since that time, same to Valery Elcourt, Cameroon's former Minister for rebuilding and industry, who was there to support the rebels.
The months passed by and Khalid and Gaspard were loosing contact slightly. The former ambitious General Secretary wallowed in self-pity, Khalid traveled around a lot.
With little interest, Gaspard read the newspapers.
What had began with German-French border conflicts, turned into a serious World War. With Japan and the United States, the last imperialist states joined the war.
The new focus is China. Several warlords, namely the Guangxi and the Xinjiang clique with Mao's forces, declared war on Chiang Kai-Shek's government and got Japanese support shortly after. As the northern warlords under Shanxi leadership stayed neutral, the battles were mostly fought in the south, where Japanese forces came from Indochina. Long Yun, highest warlord in the Yunnan province, searched for support, as none of the opponents suited to him and asked the new founded Indian nation for help. President Roy didn't hesitate and accepts the purpose and directly intervened in the Chinese civil war, hoping to install a socialist government afterwards.
The Japanese Empire expanded the realm over the Philippines and most of the Netherland's and British property in South-East-Asia.
The so called Axis mights are only marginally involved:
With the support of fresh American troops, the British army fought back the Italians from Egypt and The Germans still fight in the Pyrenees against Spanish and British forces.

But this isn't Gaspards business any longer.
He wants to smoke, ironically this causes him to remark that he hasn't smoked as often as usual the last months. He goes on his balcony. It doesn't got a good sight over the Old Town, or the port or whatever, just a rusty balcony that hangs over one of the many alleyways of Algiers, with the building in front of him raising as high enough, that its hard to see heaven.
So while he smokes he looks down on the road and freezes.
A man is looking up to him and Gaspard knew him, but is unable to get the identity of him. The next reaction was attention – the determined look in his eyes could mean, that he is an assassin or maybe a spy, which is dangerous at the same level. He was black too, other pedestrians are watching him and finally follow his look to the rusty balcony. When the stranger remarks that, he gets visibly uncomfortable. “Can I come up Gaspard?” His deep voice sounds familiar and without an reaction, the man enters the house.
Palenga, Verne Palenga.
He was one of the PSRC Army's generals, an able one.
While thoughts and memories rush through Gaspards head, the door opens and his former companion enters.
The both say nothing for a long time.
“Who do you know that I am here?”
“Menad told me. He... sends me, because he wants to see you.”

Baga-Leon's cigarette burned down without he smoked, he throws it over the balcony.
“Why doesn't he come himself?”
“He is in Istanbul right now, thats the place he wa...”
“Istanbul?! Why Turkey?”
“He met the Indians there...”

And thats the point, only after this few spoken words, Gaspard knows what future got in store for him. On the one hand, he just want to be, the curtain has fallen and his role is over. But on the other hand this could be his destiny. Ho Chi Minh's “World Revolution” resounds in his head.
“I ... am on it. So how do we get there?”

Chapter 1
The Second Chinese Civil War

Verne Palenga and Gaspard Baga-Leon got a machine for themselves on their flight to Athens. The pilot of the small plane told them, that it is a Potez 62, one of the rare early ones. With a derogative gesture, he said that he sits in this plane, because his boss don't like him, all the others got the newer model, the Potez 621.
Potez62.jpg

Potez 62
Gaspard, who has never flown before, got the impression, that the rustling of the plate was getting loader with every mile. Only Verne managed to sleep a lot, this fact calms him down a bit and soon the pilot''s permanent babble made him sleep too.
In Athens, Palenga ordered a rusty bus to bring them to Istanbul. Gaspard watched him, while he settled the voyage in fluent English speech with the driver (who optically didn't fix to the old, rusty bus). Verne was a gardener in British Cameroons before the revolution, if his masters had expected him to be in Athens someday, being on his way to change world order in East Asia? Of course that snobs hadn't! Would be astonishing, if they even would kept his name in mind.
The Greek landscape was interesting to see, they saw villages as poor as African ones, at least they looked like that. A face of Europe he hadn't seen till then.
In Istanbul they met Khalid. Gaspards first impression was the confident look on his face. They gathered in an small but fancy suite in Sisli. Menad introduced a man called Kunishev to them, who presented himself as an employee of the Comintern. After saying that, he stayed in the background, while Khalid told, how he got contact to the Indians – and except for a comment, that they owe them a lot, Kunishev took a back seat.
Khalid reported, that he met an French-Vietnamese communist in Marseille, which told him that India intervened in the Second Civil War by then – as it is called by most political observers. The problem, the Indian army got, is, that Indians where allowed to serve in the army indeed, but they lack of qualified and able generals. Most of the officers are princes of the many Indian noble houses, which haven't a clue about military leadership. They where just in their position, because they are many men ready to follow them in their nascent national consciousness.
The Russians hesitate to send their instructors, because the already present Chinese communists have chosen the Japanese Empire as their supporter, and Moscow doesn't want to antagonize them yet. So they need non-Russian generals and who could be more fitting than the exiled African socialist generals? So connections have been made and this meeting was arranged. In the meantime, Kunishev went to Delhi to speak to President Roy, which happily agreed and now awaits them.
The next morning they entered their next plane, a Tupolev ANT-9, a machine witch looked much more trustful than the last.
A bit surprised, Gaspard noticed, that the pilot is none other than Kunishev himself.
ant-9.jpg

Tupolev ANT-9
Kunishev has told them, that the British colonial look of Delhi has been wore off completely and thats what they saw when they arrived on Willington Airport, now known as Safdarjung Airport: Some parts of the building looked like ruins or at least untenanted, where the entire European influence was purged. Unlike the Rashtrapati Bhavan, the Presidential Palace, where they had been taken by a luxury limousine.
450px-Rashtrapati_Bhavan_(Dehli).jpg
President Roy received them already at the stairs of the amazing building.
As a confident communist, it was impossible to not hear something about Manabendra Nath Roy: He was the first to found a communist party outside Russia (in Mexico in 1917) and favorite of Lenin himself. The great revolutionist regarded the refining proposals of the young Indian with benevolence. Even Stalin valued his theses. But after a disagreement with the Chinese communists, he had been banned from the Comintern, where he got a leading position. Nevertheless, he still sees his aim in pushing to World Revolution.
R_0243A.JPG

The first meeting was surprisingly short, as Roy ordered some servants to show them their rooms. He announced an explanation of the situation for the next day.

entireindia.jpg

On the 26th of June, the announced meeting was held.

“Dear comrades, we are in the honorable situation to prove ourselves. Kuomintang-China is in its final struggle and there are two factions to decide it's future and thereby the entire Asia's. Our opponent is the Communist Party of China, backed by the Japanese and supported by Li Zongren and his warlords. The Xinjiang clique failed, and the region is now controlled by the nationalists. If Mao Zedong reaches to get control over entire China, war with him will be unavoidable, as they depend on Hirohito. Shortly after the begin of the China crisis, the warlord Long Yun requested our help. He controls the province of Yunnan, which might be a good basis for our intervention in Chinese future government.
commietaiwan.jpg

Mao's forces retreated to Samosa for now

frontline.jpg

As you see, we got 34 divisions at the border, of which 22 are Chinese ones, with more on the way.
The nationalists are outnumbered, but the territory is too mountainous to gain a smashing victory.
Fortunately, Yan Xishan's Shanxi clique remained neutral, so the Imperial army only got Indochina as base of operations. It seems like they concentrate there troops on the mainland now, the last weeks they advanced to Guangzhou, so we got to hurry.
We planned a new operation when general Cariappa arrives at the front line – he is our most able general. He got the honor, to free the Nepalese people and overthrew their monarch. You will support his offensive, I've already arranged a meeting. The generals you will displace, will command the troops in the Xinjiang province.
Chief-Army03.jpg

Now I'll give you a short introduction in our industry.
In the period after the revolution, we focused on infantry, to be able to engage a British counterrevolution. We are looking forward, to release three powerful battleships to secure our coasts. After their construction, we will focus on tactical bombers.

production.jpg

Our industrial power can match with European countries, with our advantage that we do not lack of any resources. The only problem we got in the past was our low money output, but fortunately Cariappa, brought the Nepalese royal treasury along, which they unlawfully stole from the people!

industry.jpg

Actually, most of the money is spent on research.

research.jpg

The revolutionary government looks like this:
cabinet.jpg

There will be changes in the cabinet very soon, as there are just to many ideologies present.

Got some questions, comrades?”

Very nice one! :)

But you should mod something about this strange Indian-Pakistan there.
Revolts, insurgency, whatever.
I doubt that the Pakistani tribes would appreciate the fact that they are ruled bei Hindus.

Seeing as the state is Socialist, religion shouldn't be very present anyways. So I don't think Pakistan would be an issue.

It's cool to see you supporting Long Yun in the Civil war.

Maybe an event later on where Socialists come to power in his warlord state?

Nice to see you continuing though. With real power at your disposal (60IC vs. 6IC) you should do quite well.

Glad to see the African socialists are still along too, hopefully many of them make it over to India, maybe African liberation is stil a possibility?

@Admiral Yamamot
Well, I belong to thos, who say, that a peaceful Pakistani-Indian government would have been possible.
But Gandhi himself didn't won't the muslim league in his cabinet, so they split. Before that, they fought together.

What might give problems is the religious thing, the Pakistani got a strong faith, with don't fit to socialism, I will think about that...

@Undead-Hippie
Hehe, a nice twist of hitory isn't it? ;)
Japan gave them this territory after forging the alliance

@von Mauser
jap finally an IC to make something
I myself was deeply surprised as Long Yun propses the alliance, this wasn't a self-made event

4th of July 1944, Kunming Army Headquarter

Not Gaspard, nor Verne or even Khalid have seen so many soldiers at one point before. The voices around them sound strange, a cacophonous mix of Chinese and Indian speech.
The Chinese soldiers got similar uniforms as their nationalist enemies, but on a closer look, they have bound red (at least pink to blood) rags around their upper left arm.
The Indian soldiers are much better equipped, but look quite old fashioned. Khalid thinks by himself, that the princes may have chosen their appearance to get the connection to traditional India.

indian_soldiers.jpg
china_def7.jpg

Indian and Yunnan Chinese soldiers in contrast

Around 250,000 soldiers have gathered here, a little bigger amount in neighboring Xiaguan. Unfortunately the Nationalists got an army size on the other side of the frontier, that nearly hits the
800,000 mark, hiding in the mountains, which surround Yunnan.
The needed to search a little time, until they found the headquarter itself.
Long Yun is an authoritative person, but donnish without any sense for humor.
But Chinese warlords doesn't stay in power because of cabaret, but of rough- and cleverness. Long proved both. He innumerable assassins and warlord enemies, which allowed him to lead the Yunnan clique for 18 years now. Even Chiang- Kai-Shek, which he antagonized often, couldn't harm him, because of his essential support for the Kuomintang in the Northern Expedition and the Great Plains War [The warlord era is soooo damn interesting! Read more about it, Wikipedia or something!].
20060914001158_14246.jpg

Long Yun

There is another uniformed person in the bleak and gloomy barrack room, who is general Cariappa, as turned out during the introduction.
The three Africans had seen many generals and officers as they walked through the camp, Indian, Chinese or Russian ones. But this Cariappa was the first, who makes an impressive appearance, without wearing swanky clothes, which look like pyjamas out of the last century.
Gaspard noticed the tension between the two generals, even if they behave politely. After the meeting, Cariappa goes out with them.
After the change of polite phrases, he could wait to ask:
“So, correct me if I am not right, but you got a problem with each other, don't you? You and Long?”
Cariappa sights before he answers.
“Yes, we do. Actually, Long Yun is a politician, maybe a good one. But I don't want him to interfere in military planning. The problem is, that I can't say a word, you know...”
Gaspard just makes some steps quietly.
“Hm... maybe you should part the forces. Purpose that Long and his men should focus on Xiaguan, while all Indian troops gather here!”
Now its Cariappa's turn to be quiet.
“This could prevent a conflict. I will think about that...
Well, to Cameroonian guerrilla tactics again, so tell me....”

aufgeteilt.jpg

But the borders stay as they are for some months.
In Europe the war finally began to rage, when the US forces launched Operation Torch. Therefore Senior Commander Mark W. Clark met Admiral Darlan, leader of the Vichy regime. He tried to convince him, to lay down the weapons, so that US forces can occupy northern Africa, as a basis to free Europe. Jean-Francois Darlan, who is known for tending towards Anglophobia, refuses. He also feared, that de Gaulle could get control after Germany has been beaten, so after all he allied the Reich.
torch.jpg

Nevertheless, the Americans started their invasion in Casablanca, and rapidly expanded, while the Axis forces got a wider Spain frontier to attack.

Van Rendsberg, proved his madness again. He couldn't let the year pass, without declaring war upon India and Japan.

So 1944 ends

After many skirmishes the Yunnan-Indian forces finally managed to drive the Nationalists out of Kangding in March, while there were only 6 divisions to defend it.
That was the first time the Indian Air Force did their first missions on retreating Chinese troops.
firstbombs.jpg

As the entire Yunnan army arrived in Kangding, they got massively attacked by Nationalist forces from all regions around and Long Yun was busy to repel the invading forces.
Menad launched a counterattack on Qujing, when suddenly Japanese forces under Prince Kan'in Kotohito's command engaged the province from the south. The Imperial army was faster to get control over Qujing.

On the 3rd of August, the Nazis finally annexed Spain with French support.

The Indian war chest slightly got empty and plans were made for an invasion on the wealthy kingdom of Nepal.

Sorry for this poor update, there wasn't much happening.
I will now install some funky events to get things rolling again.

@Undead-Hippie
In fact cray van Rendsburg is declaring war and offering peace in turn.
I will beat him up after China :)

@von Mauser
yea, a funny pic isn't it :D
not at all, but the AI acts strange if I make them attack with my troops together, so I needed a pretext to part them.

@Babington-Smyth and Carlito Gambino
welcome back = )

It's quite alright, you're overwhelming the Chinese with Yunnan support, and Spain gets annexed by the Germans. Wht's not to like?

Yan Xishan, highest warlord of Shanxi province

Shanxi_situ.jpg
While war was raging in southern China, the north had stayed calm, because of Shanxi's neutrality. Yan Xishan, famous for his pigheadedness, didn't want the communists to seize power in China, but also searched for an alternative for Chiang, as he disagreed with him – he already tried to bring him down in the Great Plains War, which wasn't so long ago.
In fact, Shanxi's economy power decreased, just because no one wants to trade with the northern warlords, finding themselves between the frontiers. Alarmed by the his generals' sudden sympathy for the communists, Yan chose to intervene.
The regional communist leader, Bo Yibo, got support by Xu Xiangqian at that time, a well-known communist general, who was the main reason Shanxi warlords turned to Mao's forces.

The Japanese intelligence realized their opportunity to keep the conflict going with offering Yan goods to re-enstrenght the Shanxi economy. As service in return, he should join the Japanese alliance. Desperately, Yan agreed, hoping to stay in power.

With the support of Japanese, Manchurian and communist support, the Shanxi army fought victoriously the next months and slowly proceed to central Chinese provinces.

06:00pm 2nd of May 1946, somewhere in western Bengal

Khalid Menad leans back, as far as it is possible in the uncomfortable army truck. In front of him lays the region plan of Nepal, together with the deploy of the Indian troops. After his arrival in Darbhanga, the Indian forces will be twice as high as the Nepalese ones, but the territory is worse. Roy ordered the whole coast guarding forces to take part in the invasion of the kingdom. Additionally, some fresh recruits have already been stationed at the border. After the ships and his personal staff, who he is on the way with, had been finished, Armaments Minister Vanel commissioned mass infantry production to overwhelm the Chinese Nationalists.

But to keep the production and the research running, more funds are needed. So he, Khalid Menad, will be the one to accord people's concern the Royal Nepalese gold.

the Indian actual research projects

With the new frontier in the north, Chiang's forces became vulnerable and the Nationalists was forced to fall back from Zhaotung, hopefully the Japanese aren't faster this time too. But this wasn't his problem for the moment, the invasion of Nepal was too important to think about other battles. He applies himself to the battle plans once again.

Xining, 26th of January 1947 9:00 am Provisional Army Head Quarter

Khalid got a call this day, that, among other generals, Gaspard Baga-Leon is on his way to Xining too, like 190,000 Indian soldiers.
Scouts reported that the Nationalists were forced to install some circuitous supply routes through the mountains near the Mongol border with the city of Dunhuang as its hub.
When the frost will disappear, Lieutenant General Sikhand and Major General Andrade will lead four divisions of mountain infantry up there, to cut the caravans.
The consequence will be 25 Chinese divisions caged in the Xinjiang province. The Indian troops in the Taklimakan desert will make their way easily. Since the war moved to the northern provinces too, the Indian-Yunnan army made some progress.
The Nepalese army was no match, outnumbered, low-qualified and low-equipped. But he took the chance to learn about warfare into mountainous area and he now feels better prepared.

menad_mountaineer.jpg

But he hadn't lose time and returned to Kangding, where he led the invasion of Ya'an, against the totally overstrained and outnumbered Nationalist army.
Yaan.jpg

But the Indian army wasn't the only one to benefit from the Nationalists' weakness: The Japanese realized their chance and launched an offensive at the same time.
So the revolutionary forces were able to get control over the important province of Sichuan, the industrial center of China, Chiang now lament the loss of 56 industrial complexes.

ScreenSave41.jpg

The last battle for Sichuan was led by General Cariappa on the 16th of July

In Shanxi province, it seemed that Yan made the wrong choice:
After the Nationalist forces had stomached the shock, they repelled the mainly Manchurian forces.
Informants told us, that Chiang ordered to move the main army to the North – good for Indian interests.

Shanxi_6.jpg

However, the Sino-Japanese forces in the south advanced along the coast.
guangxi.jpg

The most surprising thing happened, was the defense command of General Digviijaysinhji of Nawanagar. He maintained his position three days long, when finally reinforcements arrive. With this heroic action, he paved the way to engage Qinghai's capital Xining.
ScreenSave42.jpg

Indian troops raised their banner in Xining with fall's end. The decisive battle was fought on the 3rd of November and was led by Bhupindher Singh of Patiala. Regrettably, one of our best generals, Bahadur Kohoon of Jasialmer, died in this last battle, before the winter kept every reasonable man from fighting.
ScreenSave49.jpg

Now, a new year has started.
Khalid hopes, that the Chinese Civil War will be over soon.
After that, the Indian army's next aim, will be the freedom of Africa, as fast as possible!
The European fascists hold their last African stand in Tunisia grimly, but who knows how long?! If the Allies were forced to fight at two fronts in Africa, this would be a great advantage!
But first, he'll wait for Gaspard.

So sad to see your general died.
