I also believe, leading on to my suggestion post, that post civil war he *definitely* shouldn't still be around in an Axis aligned Jugoslavija then?
As in, post civil war, he should maybe flip to the Democratic aligned side? I don't know, just trying to seek out further justification in light of this newfound knowledge.
If we had the time to give him a bit more detail like that it would have been cool, I tried to research futher on the exacts of when he left and returned to civilian duties at home in the Vojvodina area (The town no longer exists and its exact name in German escapes me at the moment as I don't keep my research records handy at work) but as you had trouble googling him, my searching of what little documents we still have and going through various books has not been fruitful and deadlines to release are not kind. Such day to day individual documentation does not always make it to the history books unfortunately.

The fact that he stays feasible as a general in Axis Aligned Jugoslavija is fine by me - I can unfortunately neither confirm nor deny with 100% certainty that my great-grandfather was not among the various elements of the Fifth Column. While I believe his individual testimony that he never did such even under duress, its hearsay until other documentation is found - if it ever can be. I do know through my other research what kind of duress fellow ethnic Germans in the area were placed under at that time. What I do know is that because of those situations, whether involved personally or not, my family was among those targetted during the liberation of the area in 1944.
