I think one of the devs said that it's an engine limitation of reality, but a tesseract was their intended shape. Which means that they have finally updated our universe with another dimension.

As for Milan, I wouldn't get too excited. 5 provinces can mean nothing if the new Switzerland gets 20.

I'm pretty sure that most / all "imperial city" type provinces have intentionally exaggerated base tax, to make them more viable states as OPMs. Look at Frankfurt, Hamburg, Lubeck, etc.

thanks for pointing that out to me that pic wasn't up there before when i look, nice to know that europe is getting an AoW level overhaul

Although those forts seem really questionable to me, Wouldn't placing forts in Ortelsburg and the new province south of Danzig, I can't quite make out its name, be better placements? They would still guard the entire heart of the nation even from a naval invasion while being in a much better position when you go to war against your neighbors to auto take some of their territory and defend these conquests in the future?

There will always be one in the capital. The others are likely important historical castles/forts (e.g. Malbork Castle).
