A day after the last Dev Diary, which showed an unchanged square Memel, Wiz tweeted the following:

Excited about the return of competitive developer #EU4 MP next week. I'm five-province Milan, with @DDRJake as my neighbour in Venice.

That last tweet gave a less obvious hint. In 1.11 Milan starts as a 3PM, meaning Milan by itself will be getting two additional provinces.

I don't even use Twitter, so stumbled upon these quite accidentally. Those of us craving any and all information about the next expansion should watch what the devs have to say here more attentively.

Maybe they already started or they could've agreed upon internally that Wiz will be allowed to conquer 2 provinces/OPMs near him.

Or... Italy will be getting some province-love!

Also all cultures east of "Rhinelander" have been replaced with a new culture called "soviet".

Two provinces more, mh? I can think of four possible: Ticino, Valtellina, Alessandria and Novara. I suppose they could have been coupled, though - Novara and Alessandria, and Ticino and Valtellina. The latter pair is a bit iffy, but the former can work.

Some interesting map changes in Europe for the next patch! Ulm was finally nerfed.

I think this bodes well for relooking at the HRE, given what we've already seen in the screenshots.

Montferrat is fairly large for an HRE state that isn't in the game yet, and with its Byzantine connections, it would seem likely to me to be the first Italian minor to be added...

I've been wanting more Italian provinces and a larger focus on Italy in general for such a long time. I love the tease, can't wait to see it for myself.

If you add Montferrat then Saluzzo is a must, they were both HRE march states, similar purpose and roughly same size. There about a dozen Italian states that NEED to be added to make Italy stand out.
