I haven't noticed this problem myself, I don't use the CK2+ mod, is that contributing to your issues?

I am all in favor of a little religious division in CK2, keeps the world fresh however.

Only that one pic was from CK2+, and even then the only thing from it was the empire and title. I don't think the mod actually makes conversion any more likely.

I certainly haven't seen a jewish empire form in CK2, ever, and i've played a lot of hours. Aside from that, it'd be worth gathering some data on the likelihood of this happening in a regular game, if its 1/100 or 1/1000 for example, then its fine.

There should probably be a check somewhere that lowers or eliminates A.I.'s chances to convert to a physicians religion.
It's one of those features that are cool to have as a player, but shouldn't be used by every NPC.

In my current Scandinavian game Alfred the Great's son converted to Judaism, presumably because Jesus wasn't helping him against the viking hordes. Of course now the British isles are divided among the Norsemen anyways but it sure was a funny footnote in history.

How often does it happen? If its happening once in a blue moon, then that's fine.

The forming of a jewish empire is considerably more powerful than some random king converting. If anyone needs to test this, convert a random king in a CK2 game to a religion and see how long he lasts, not long at all. His provinces will be weak and his neighbors will take him down or his own court will assassinate him.

Are you 100% certain that no feature of CK2+ assists the process of a large jewish empire forming?

*sigh* Like I said, that particular title "The Jewish Empire" is purely CK2+. But the fact that rulers are converting to Judaism isn't from CK2+. It could just as easily have happened to Karl after he forms the Holy Roman Empire, then you'd have a Jewish HRE.

That makes a huge difference then. The forming of a stable empire is a huge power shift. This doesn't happen in regular CK 2 play, hardly ever does a different religion rise up, convert all the provinces around them and form a new, stable empire.

So i'll ask again. Has this happened to anyone. Has anyone, ever, seen a large jewish empire outside of a modded game. If so did it last longer than 5 years.

When one person or more says yes, then we can look at how likely this is. Does it happen one in every 10 thousand games of CK2, and when it happens how long does he last? If so, and if not long, then there is no issue at all.

In that case, yes again. Steppe horde empires occasionally convert to Judaism. I've also seen Jewish states arise in Baltic Europe - hell, this current game, I saw a couple AI provinces in Lithuania convert to Hindusim in the early 9th century.

It's not so bad, actually. My last game had almost no issues, at least none that I noticed, and I'm sure the next patch will at least somewhat address the problem.

In normal gameplay you have these things called de jure empires, most of which CK2+ lacks. I Charlemagne converted to Judaism after forming the HRE, you'd have the same end result. Or the Byzantine emperor. Or any HRE after the 1066 bookmarks. It's only a fluke here that Pepin A) survived, B) happened to get that event. And I thought the point of this whole thread were the mysterious conversions, not whether a character happened to have/immediately get an empire title.

Quite obviously it goes to the severity of the issue doesn't it. If its a random courtier being converted, who cares. If its a rogue king rarely getting converted, okay I can live with that, spices things up now and again, because he won't last long. If the HRE is becoming jewish in more than 1 in 100 games for example, then yes that's a serious problem and it needs a swift patch. From what I am seeing though, that isn't the case and this is a minor issue.

In fact having the odd surprise from nowhere is welcome, as long as it remains a surprise.

While that is impressive, and venice is my favorite choice too for difficult religious conversion games, I think the thread is generally talking about the AI.
