Hi there.

In the early XV centaury Poland had really big jewish population and according to some sources, about three-quarters of all Jews lived in Poland by the middle of the 16th century. But in eu4 this fact is nonexistent. It just seems like Poland is full of catholics and nothing else. No mention of big jewish communities. It would be great if they had at least some events addressing this, And maybe even an enent somewhere in late XV centaury that let it flips a few of provinces to jewish religion so some players will be able to play Jewish Commonwealth. I feel like it is a shame that polish jews are so underrepresented in the game.

Thanks a lot for reading and have a nice day!

Just for brainstorm: besides events, there is a mechanic in game which allows to represent ethnical, cultural or religious minorities: estates. For example, Dhimmi estate in Muslim countries represents religious minorities.

Keep making posts like this, and I'll start screaming about pops and I:R's modeling of minorities.

In all seriousness, though, annulen's estate idea is an excellent one. Another option would be to look at how the Anbennar mod handles minorities, with province minority traits (minority, large minority, majority) to reflect different groups present in a province.

why are so many people obsessed with making countries jewish? there was no chance the state religion of poland was going to be jewish - if you want that kind of wacky stuff, you can easily console command it (or find a mod for it)

I feel the OP post is more focused on the lack of events in Poland that make it seem like the Jewish population didn't exist at all rather than a suggestion to plainly allow the tag to switch to Jewish. The addition of a handful of events and potentially even an estate is not too big of an ask to add to a country which is likely one of the most relevant tags in the game for such content.

Estates is a big ask seeing how they're normally only added via dlc.
Having jewish events would be good, but having whole populations converted to judaism isn't good when paradox outside of victoria takes populations to be so binary. It's like the iberian events in ck3 where you grant a County to an event generated jew and they flip their County to ashkenazi and rabbinic. Jewish populations did grow to considerable sizes under the commonwealth, but I doubt paradox will include the inevitable pogroms and backlash that followed, especially by ruthenians and cossacks. Also because we know how orthodoxy works for Lithuania, poland will just immediately convert these Jewish provinces back to Catholic

at the very least would make a very interesting event chain. the story of the golem is supposedly from 16th century Prague- the other most famous in Chelm, Poland.

So yes, there should be a Jewish Estate. (Lower interest for the Jewish-Burgher Loans would be a fantastic privilege as would Lowered Development from fiscal management.)

But changing religion of provinces, would imply that the Jewish minority had enough numbers to be a majority which just wasn't there...

So I can't upvote your suggestion because you are suggesting a fantasy scenario. I agree with half of your suggestion though.

P.S. I have several advisors as Poland, who are Jewish, so they are there, just not in large enough quantities for my historical flavor.
