Note: i got 23 years in before i figured out i was gonna do an aar and went looking through saves/pictures to scrap it together so some stuff is missing.

Serene sinope perhaps the dominant greek city in northern anatolia starts the game in a better spot than i thought. While they are too weak to attack Pontus or Paphlagonia on their own i sat for 2 years and saved money and allied amisos. When nearby paphlagonia invaded a defensive league of greeks to their west i inteviened with the help of mercenaries and took their coast to deprive them of the ability to threaten greeks ever again.

When the Armenian behemoth turned their eye to the region Sinope felt resopnsible for making sure not all of it fell to these eastern invaders. Sinope attacked pontus and took their coastal regions too before Sinope took the hard decition of having to unite all local greeks so Armenia wouldent eat them. A quick war against Trapezos and Amisos made Sinope the undisputed power in the southern euxine sea.
Skärmbild (135).png

Great strides were taken to make the city of Sinope the richest city on the euxine and eventually the world. Trade was encouraged and needed since the city decided to keep it's mercenary force for the many wars it knew would come.
Skärmbild (136).png
Skärmbild (137).png

The leader of our rising kingdom was actually of greekified anatolian heritage, the kingdom quickly became a beacon of a mixed anatolian-greek heritage.
Skärmbild (138).png

A western upstart by the name mithradates invaded Paphlagonia in 458 AUC but a quick war against both him and Paphlagonia itself quickly unified the region under Sinope.
Skärmbild (139).png

The western expansion would contine to ensure the protecting and welfare of the local greeks in the area. First the dacians were defeated in a quick war (they dident even fight me they went and sieged thrace (my ally) while i took their forts.) Before the greeks themselves were allowed entry into the kingdom.
Skärmbild (140).png

Great efforts were taken in making sure the paphlagonians would stay loyal and happy in our greeco-anatolian kingdom.
Skärmbild (141).png

Efforts continued to make sinope the richest city on the euxine.
Skärmbild (142).png

A eastern campaign was deemed necessary before Armenia took the region so a offensive war against the colchians and eastern greeks were conducted before Armenia invaded them.

I got scammed out of phasis this war since colchis was allied to both phasis and it's revolt, only "real phasis" were called in and as soon as i defeated them they lost the civil war and i were no longer at war and hence could only take colchian land.
Skärmbild (143).png

Aggressive Armenia was trying to stop me stopping them from taking the region and hence invaded with the intention of pushing us away from eastern coastal euxine.
Skärmbild (144).png
Skärmbild (145).png

An effort were started to learn from the veterans of the great campaign since their expertise no doubt would be needed.
Skärmbild (146).png

With the power of friendship (Thrace) the armenians were quickly defeated and all of former pontus plus abit more was taken from them as punishment. A quick war against phasis was also conducted to help protect our greek breatheren.
Skärmbild (147).png

Not too impressive yet but this map mode is borderline map porn as it is.
Skärmbild (148).png

The colchinians were quickly integrated in the administration to better help administer the country.
Skärmbild (149).png

To help retain the loyalty of our wealthiest provinces a exemption from census tax was given to all nobles and citizens.
Skärmbild (150).png

The current province situation not too bad but some of them are dropping fast due to the low stability.
Skärmbild (151).png

A zoomed out look, antigonid loyalists hold a few holdouts but are otherwise done for while macedon hold the levant.
Skärmbild (152).png

While king sky had dulled abit in his old age his reign so far had transformed sinope from a minor trading city in northern anatolia to it's largest power bar the selucids. Nothing more that the highest adoration can be given to such a godly man.
Skärmbild (153).png

While king sky himself was of cappadocian decent no effort had been done to integrate them to the state yet but the court talked about integrating cappadocian and armenian and it's pros and cons.
Skärmbild (154).png

The country may be minorly unstable but it's not too bad for the moment. Sinopes destiny is still undecided, if the city will just be a footnote in history or it will become something more only time can tell.

Good on you for putting some life into the Imperator AAR forum! I’ve dropped in for a look and wish Sinope well in its Odyssey. A good start made so far.

To start of with the cappadocians were starting to be integrated which only makes sense since king sky himself are of cappadocian origin.
Skärmbild (163).png

The lysimachids were invading byzantion and all it's allies, to make sure Thrace wouldent become the undisputed ruler of the region we launched our own invasion to sieze some of it for ourselves.
Skärmbild (164).png

The bosporan kingdom were invaded at the same time as Thrace also was at war with them.
Skärmbild (165).png

While we couldent take over both parts of the straight we could atleast make sure that neither could Thrace.
Skärmbild (166).png

The later bosporan peacedeal made us the undisputed power of the euxine which truly had become our sea.
Skärmbild (167).png
Skärmbild (168).png

Instead of killing all the corsairs in the sea we simply put ourselves on top of the totem pole and allow them aslong as they stayed loyal to Sinope.
Skärmbild (169).png
Skärmbild (170).png
Skärmbild (171).png

Greek colonization (through moving slaves) of the eastern shores were encouraged.
Skärmbild (172).png
Skärmbild (173).png

The lysimachids did not take kindly to Sinope encrouching on territory they considered theirs so they called of the alliance to the only nation friendly with them.
Skärmbild (174).png

Since the greeks were unwilling to befriend Sinope a anatolian alliance was instead suggested and ratified with Cappadocia.
Skärmbild (175).png

To ease the burden on the plebs taxes were lowered and to help fight corruption wages for civil servants were raised to make them less likely to turn to bribes. The expense of these projects were handled by the trade monopoly in the euxine.
Skärmbild (176).png

And thats where i'll leave for now, abit short but some minor gains were to be had, we integrated cappadocian and we lost Thrace as an ally and gained Cappadocia.
Skärmbild (177).png

Notes: if i were actually good at the game i would have turned taxes to low way in the past since it helped alot with the internal stability. It may also have been better to invade cappadocia than infringe on Thrace to keep them as a ally, i integrated cappadocian afterall.

I'm definitely digging the screenshots showcasing the latest update.

The 1st thracian war and the boy king
The cappadocians proved unwilling to stay allies and instead opted with an alliance with the few cities still loyal to the antigonids.
Skärmbild (179).png
With the armenians to the east hating us, thracians to the west hating us and cappadocia unwilling to ally the only place left was north. An alliance with both the bosporans and the scythians was arranged so that we could atleast have one flank secure no matter who won their current conflict.
Skärmbild (180).png
Skärmbild (181).png

The cappadocians proved to be a people with everchanging opinions and as soon as they realised they were a likely expansion target they proved willing to ally up hopefully for awhile again.
Skärmbild (182).png

Diplomatic situation in the autumn of 482.
Skärmbild (183).png

King sky had long feared a selucid intervention to stop us from becoming the leading power in anatolia but word reached us of their failure to protect their eastern flank against the mauryans.
Skärmbild (184).png

Since our state lacked a standing army of our own and was quite rich from the lucrative trade in the region it was decided we should foster a relationship with the mercenaries in the region and partly rely on them for protection.
Skärmbild (185).png

The scythians and bosporans decided to share the land between them in a manner much simular to current day palestine/israel. Since i'm allied to both i doubt the bordergore will stop anytime soon.
Skärmbild (186).png

The bloodthirsty armenians not content with just having murdered albania smelled blood from the selucids and decided to strike.
Skärmbild (187).png

Having all flanks being either allies or enemies busy with eachother this was a opportune moment to get back on the former ally of ours. Thrace was no pushover but with the power of money (mercenaries) the war turned out easier than i thought even if it took awhile.
Skärmbild (188).png

The selucids only lost minimal amounts of land to the mauryans but they threw Bactria to the wolves. Armenia now stand alone against the selucids.
Skärmbild (189).png

Halfway through the war disaster strikes, king sky who had turned our country from a small city state to the dominant power in the black sea and northern anatolia died of dysentry. This made his still yet young child to ascend as king.
Skärmbild (193).png

Where theres opportunity theres vultures who wish to displace the child king in favor of themselves or a puppet. As if they had forgotten everything his father had done for them.
Skärmbild (194).png

The new king hegesias had grown up as a greek, althought he had anatolian blood in him he got a greek upbringing which gladdened the greeks in court but saddened the anatolians who felt like the elite were becoming increasingly greek.
Skärmbild (195).png

Althought the armies had kicked Thrace out of asia and had plans for a invasion of lysimachia the current turmoil made all such plans null and a agreement with Thace was reached. They could retain controll of the agean coast but most of anatolia woudl stay in Sinope's control.

The early reign of king hegesias
While the thriacian war led to significant land gains we neither reached the aegean nor declawed Thrace. Thrace no doubt suffered a heavy blow but if we would find ourselves in a moment of weakness Thrace would no doubt be both willing and capable to return the favor.
Skärmbild (208).png

Some ungratefull colchians revolted against our rule even when we had done much to integrate them into the administration. This led to whispers of if they deserve to be in the administration when they clearly still resent our rule.
Skärmbild (210).png

While we were dealing with the rebells the bosporans had a civil war. It was decided to let them fend for themselves.
Skärmbild (211).png

The rebellion was luckily weak so it was quickly put down before it could snowball out of control.
Skärmbild (213).png

King hegesias had reached adulthood and hence went looking for a wife, in the end he married the 16 year old noblewoman malthake.
Skärmbild (214).png
Skärmbild (215).png

While out relation with the capadocians had been shaky and unsertain it seems like our rulers had become friends which surely will lead to good and stable relations for years to come.
Skärmbild (216).png

Sosthenes a mind so brilliant he rivals archimedes himself was steadily improving the life of our people.
Skärmbild (217).png

Efforts were taken to make good cavalrymen out of our nobility.
Skärmbild (218).png

Instead of dubbling down on civic and increase trade income even more an effort was taken to stop further progress towards new rebellions by increasing the happiness of our subjects.
Skärmbild (219).png

The year 500 would be the start of a decade long warm period where crop yields increased significantly.
Skärmbild (220).png

Since our country was stable it was decided another war with Thrace would be needed to make sure they never would be a threat to Sinope ever again.
Skärmbild (221).png

Thrace seemed unwilling to meet our superior numbers in the field and lysimachia was surrendered after 8 months of siege without a fight.
Skärmbild (222).png

The bosporans had turned to Thrace when we had refused to intervene in their internal matters, this opened up another front but we slowly but surely pushed them out.
Skärmbild (223).png

The bosporan kingdom had been ravaged by the war worse than Thrace itself and was willing to give up most of their lands in return for peace. While we took the richest province for ourselves scythia was given minor gains for their assistance.
Skärmbild (224).png

Just under two months after the bosporans gave up Thace surrendered, they gave up their best provinces to us and relinquished control of some interior tribes.
Skärmbild (226).png

Lysimachia was razed to the ground to show that Sinope had no equal.
Skärmbild (227).png

To celebrate a huge building project was started in Sinope.
Skärmbild (228).png

With the hellespont in our hands it became possible to slowly but surely radiate control out of the euxine and towards the rest of the mediterranean. This also crushed the lysimachids since their richest provinces were taken.
Skärmbild (232).png

Seizing southern crimea and pushing the bosporans west of the borysthenes had strengthened our trade in the region and made the bosporans a irrelevant power.
Skärmbild (233).png

To the west a roman-macedonian war rages, if rome will claim greece for themselves or be kicked out of it is as of now uncertain but the future of greece hangs in the balance.
Skärmbild (234).png

To the east selucids had integrated what was left of bactria but was being invaded by bactrians from the tarim basin.
Skärmbild (235).png

Egypt has grown into a formidable state ever since they siezed the levant form Macedon.

The humbling of the diadochi
To think that just a generation ago the diadochi and the epigoni seemed invincible but now Theace lay broken at our feet, the antogonid kingdom were barely more than a collection of small cities in anatolia and macedon itself had lost land to some upstart itallic's. It was clear that the greeks would need a new beacon to turn to in their time of need.
Skärmbild (245).png

Althought the antigonids were weak quite a few smaller greek states still gave them their allegiance something that we would need to stop if Sinope ever were to succeed.
Skärmbild (246).png

Our brilliant scientists continue to step by step bring us towards a age of enlightenment.
Skärmbild (247).png

Althought the gains were relatively minor we now had defacto control the coast of asia minor and had reduced their power significantly.
Skärmbild (248).png

We continue to have a cavalry doctrine in regards of our army.
Skärmbild (249).png

For the first time it was decided that Sinope would need a standing army of it's own even if merenaries would remain a mainstay for years to come.
Skärmbild (250).png

Ionia our recent conquest was allowed self governance and after the founding of our standing army quickly got in line.
Skärmbild (251).png

A huge force numbering 45000 was amassed for a invasion further into greece against Macedon.
Skärmbild (252).png
Skärmbild (253).png

In just over 2 years most of northern and central greece had been overrun. Even when the macedonians recaptured thessaly shortly before the signing of the treaty they understood the war was lost and gave heavy concessions including pella itself.
Skärmbild (254).png

Unlike lysimachia pella was not sacked too terribly and would remain a important city for years to come.
Skärmbild (255).png

Defeating 3 diadochi states in rapid succession had greatly improved our standing in the world and made us a contender for the strongest greek state in the world even if that honor probablly was held by the selucids at the moment.
Skärmbild (256).png

Scythia and cappadocia remains allies with aeolia and ionia as vassal states. Cappadocia was unwilling to help in our conquest of pella and we can therefore ask how necessary their alliance are.
Skärmbild (257).png

Macedonians are not only numerous but also fellow greeks therefore it was decided that they should be allowed high rights in their new homeland.
Skärmbild (259).png

Diadochi propaganda would have you belive hegesias was a weak man with no talent for anything but what would that say about them? They were defeated by that very weak man who had done so much for greeks everywhere.
Skärmbild (262).png

Thinking of unintegrating colchians and paphlagonian, cappadocian are not that much more populus than them in our country but there are crutially more of them in well capadocia so it may be worth having them stay integrated. I would also need atleast one of them as a integrated culture if i want to adopt persian military traditions which i intent to.

Sinope stands alone

With the capture of pella and the coast of asia minor we had grown from a regional power confined on the euxine into a power everybody recognized, beating up minor kingdoms in the past did not give the same prestige as capturing pella itself.

Since the cappadocians had been unwilling to go to war with Macedon it was decided that their alliance was unneeded and a far more aggressive stance against cappadocia was employed.
Skärmbild (269).png

While scythia had been a loyal ally they were simply too weak to have an alliance with us, alliances and friendships were between equals.
Skärmbild (270).png

While we were no longer allied to Scythia we continued to improve our cavalry to match those of the steppe.
Skärmbild (271).png

While the stability was low and many argued it was a bad time to implement unpopular policies it was decided that a greater effort was going to hellenize our rising kingdom.
Skärmbild (272).png
Skärmbild (273).png

The unpopular policies sparked a series of rebellions that were quickly put down as no outsider capitalized on our moment of unrest.
Skärmbild (274).png
Skärmbild (275).png

Ionia had been given special rights to govern themselves but the area was rich and held one of the great wonders of our time so they would be abetter part of our country directly.
Skärmbild (276).png

Intelligent men like Varazdat continued to take the world into an enlightened age.
Skärmbild (277).png

The rebellions continue to no avail
Skärmbild (278).png
Skärmbild (279).png
Skärmbild (280).png
Skärmbild (281).png

While we had been longstanding allies with their recent betrayal our great king hegesias felt forced to secure our southern flank before the selucids of egyptians subjugated cappadocia for themselves. So with a heavy heart he invaded the land of his ancestors (his father was cappadocian if you remember).
Skärmbild (282).png

While aeolia was far from as rich and important as ionia it had a crucial position along the hellespont we desired for ourselves so they would also be integrated in time.
Skärmbild (283).png

Cappadocia would be relegated to a small settlement in cicillia while Macedon would surrender thessaly. Since macedonian and cappadocian were both integrated this boosed our levies by quite abit even if thessaly only had a minority of macedonians.
Skärmbild (284).png

While our armies were bruised and battered it was decided that a war with Thrace would be quick, we had allready defeated them twice afterall.
Skärmbild (285).png

The war turned out harder than hegesias had imagined and only minor gains were to be had, our levies were not even half of what they used to be at the end of the war and our formerly 10k strong heavy cavalry legion had been reduced to almost none.
Skärmbild (286).png

We had always gone for a cavalry doctrine so from here on out special effort was done to learn from those who had perfected the craft.
Skärmbild (287).png

Sinope at the end of the 3rd thracian war
Skärmbild (288).png

The west with the current 2nd roman-macedonian war, Rome was quickly growing into a behemoth who stretched from iberia to greece.
Skärmbild (289).png

After the selucids crushed the armenians they had entered a long period of consolidation, Egypt has started to conquer a few coastal regions in anatolia.
Skärmbild (290).png

Maurya has united a good 2/3s of the continent
Skärmbild (291).png

Some of our more southern territories were planning rebellion, how it would be dealt with is as of yet unknown.
Skärmbild (292).png

Our technological progress, in the beginning we invested heaviliy into trade something that has allowed me to have low taxation and harsh treatment in a good half of my buddling kingdom since our wealth don't directly depend on the output of the citizens. After that we focused alot on religious for happiness boosts and assimilation. We got 1 tech in oratory for +2 loyalty since our negative legitimacy impacts loyalty quite harshly.
Skärmbild (293).png
Skärmbild (294).png
Skärmbild (295).png
Skärmbild (296).png

It was finally decided to ditch colchians and paphlagonians and just let them assimilate in time since our kingdom quickly had outgrown the use of these cultures.
Skärmbild (297).png
Skärmbild (298).png

You could even argue i should get rid of cappadocians at this point since they only are just under 10% of our total population but atleast for now they will stay.
Skärmbild (299).png

The aegean and first egyptian wars
With the recent conquest of cappadocia foreign policy turned from controlling the coast and trade of anatolia to in time own all of it. There were some people who would be unhappy with it however since is 528 we were far from the only people with plans for the region. The selucids owned considerable parts of the region even if only losely as most of it were detached from the persian heartland. Egypt owned both coastal areas in cilicia and was the overlord of many islands outside anatolia. The antigonids and a considerable amount of native rulers still owned most of southern anatolia.
Skärmbild (315).png

The temple of artemis was a driving factor for the integration of the region.
Skärmbild (316).png

One of our vested intrests in the region was to hold on to the mausoleum of Halicarnassus since we allready have issues stemming from the native anatolians.
Skärmbild (317).png

The selucids took a side in the miletian civil war no doubt hoping to gain a port for themselves so Sinope felt forced to deprive them of this by taking the area for ourselves.
Skärmbild (322).png
Skärmbild (323).png
Skärmbild (324).png

It seems like Egypt thought us weak they declared war with the intent to march into anatolia and capture a province in cappadocia from us.
Skärmbild (325).png

The only major naval battle of the war happened outside of ionia with a sinopean victory even if casualties were light on both sides.
Skärmbild (326).png
Skärmbild (327).png

To handle the mounting pressure our great king did what he could to leviate the pressure on his people, consequences be damned.
Skärmbild (328).png
Skärmbild (330).png

Cicilia fell easily to us and a small scale invasion was done to capture antioch but egyptian reinforcements would arrive to outnumber us eventually.
Skärmbild (331).png

The milesian war came to an end.
Skärmbild (332).png

Eventually egypt surrendered minor amounts of land for peace, a large scale invasion of the levant would be needed to make them surrender an inch more, men we did not have.
Skärmbild (333).png
Skärmbild (334).png

The colchians again shows why they dident deserve to be an integrated culture.
Skärmbild (335).png

The cavalry focus continue.
Skärmbild (336).png

A war with rhodes and crete is started to truly become the hegemon in the area.
Skärmbild (337).png

It seems like our recent macedonian war weakened them too much as now rome now ruled from the coast of hispania to Athens.
Skärmbild (338).png

Our vengence was so deep against the colchians we depopulated entire areas and settled them with greeks instead.
Skärmbild (339).png
Skärmbild (340).png

Crete had been under military occupation basically the entire war at this point but first now were they willing to surrender.
Skärmbild (341).png

Rhodes followed soon after.
Skärmbild (342).png

Rhodos was sacked since it's riches surely would be better spent elsewhere if the times ahead are half as dire as they look to be.
Skärmbild (343).png

Sinope at the end of 532 AUC
Skärmbild (344).png

Military ministers have pushed for a selucid war, rome is busy with a gallic revolt and administering what they allready have. They argue that as soon as Rome has stabilized they will seek to enslave the rest of greece so this may be the best chance we have. We are however overextended ourselves, a hard decision will now have to be decided.

The first selucid war
Resolving ourselves to defeat the final diadochi so that we could collect all of the infinity stones we really needed to do something about ae fast so we went 3 inventions deep into oratory as a start.
Skärmbild (346).png

With the power of being rich as fuck we amassed a huge army numbering 90000 for our invasion of selucid anatolia.
Skärmbild (347).png

The moment of truth
Skärmbild (348).png

The selucid scum ravage and burn to their hearts content.
Skärmbild (349).png

Selucid anatolia falls and we sue for peace, our troops ahd been held up by all the forts in anatolia but could now focus on chasing the invaders out. The selucids had 3 lvl 4 forts in western anatolia and 2 lvl 1 forts in cicilia.
Skärmbild (350).png

The selucids were in a bad state with upstart eastern provinces rebelling and they were willing to give up all provinces they had forts in. Although we were unable to chase them out entirely we took the deal.
Skärmbild (351).png

Pontic culture has recently been spreading like wildfire something that has made our levies much bigger.
Skärmbild (354).png

No one is surprised that hellenic culture and religion have a huge overlap when it comes to assimilation/conversion even if some areas are different.
Skärmbild (355).png

Pontic culture has become more widespread than macedonian even with our recent conquest adding a fair bit of macedonian pops. Phrygian is a sizeable minority in our country now and arguments have been made to either integrate them or unintegrate cappadocian since they are equally big.
Skärmbild (356).png

Our low taxation high trade policy has served us well so far, it has drastically reduced the amount of disloyal provinces while still giving us a decent income. Fort cost would be fixed after this since some of the provinces we conquered from the selucids had 9/5 fort limit when this picture was taken.
Skärmbild (360).png

While factions at court pushed for a anatolian policy there were a considerably large portion of merchants and naval officers who pushed for more direct control of the euxine. A quick Sarmatian war gave them some peace of mind.
Skärmbild (361).png
Skärmbild (362).png

While we were unable to crush the selucids we weakened their hold on anatolia heavily and increased ours. Sarmatia was also reduced to a shadow of what it once was.
Skärmbild (363).png

Somewhat minor gains but for 6 years it's quite decent. A consolidation decade or two would surely be needed but with three strong empires on our border two of whom we recently took land from it's unsure how peacefull the future will be.

Sinope is doing well.

It's a giant blob. Not bad for a small city on the Euxine

That's an impressive Sinope, allright. :)

Anatolian hegemon
Mastering the cataphract is a relam to powers some consider... unnatural. We have very few levies with heavy cavalry but our legion will wreck everything in the wars to come with this.
Skärmbild (367).png

The gordians revolt, something that would be quickly crushed and no issue on it's own.
Skärmbild (368).png

Unfortunetly Rome decide to strike.
Skärmbild (369).png

After a siege gordion falls and our full attention is to the west.
Skärmbild (370).png

The first battle of the war is a heroic victory.
Skärmbild (371).png
Skärmbild (372).png

Our cavalry legion really show that all our effort into buffing heavy cavalry really was worth it in the end.
Skärmbild (373).png
Skärmbild (374).png
Skärmbild (375).png
Skärmbild (376).png
Skärmbild (377).png

Decent land gains were had even if Rome continued to hold a strong presence in greece. This was done for two reasons: the lands i took had no forts and to cut off Rome from supplying greece in a possible future conflict.
Skärmbild (378).png

No longer would Sinope be seen as a upstart greek kingdom but as one of the truly great powers of it's time.
Skärmbild (379).png

The legion would go on to produce some of the best horsemen in the world for centuries to come.
Skärmbild (380).png

A minor revolt turns into a larger affair when they sit on a lvl 3 fort and the antigonid remnants join the rebellion.
Skärmbild (381).png

Confident after our recent roman victory we decide to push the selucids out of anatolia once and for all.
Skärmbild (382).png

Our invincible horsemen once again distinct themselves on the field.
Skärmbild (383).png

About a year after the selucids crushing defeat in anatolia they sue for peace.
Skärmbild (384).png

Quickly followed by ending the rebellion and punishing the antigonid remnants.
Skärmbild (385).png

We have as of now not just copied and improved heavy cavalry but mastered it to such an extent that others would fearfully speak of them way beyond our borders.
Skärmbild (386).png

While some southern anatolian minor kingdoms still pretend to be independent it is clear to everyone that Sinope stands alone as hegemon of anatolia.
Skärmbild (387).png

The city of kretopolis is the last place the once great antigonid dynasty still hold.
Skärmbild (388).png

I swear i intended to chill for 10ish years and do boring stabalizing and teching maybe build some roads but with the romans attacking me and the selucids having a minor civil war i decided afterall why why shouldn't i keep it?

It's a giant blob. Not bad for a small city on the Euxine
Yeah ill admit road and city building are severly lacking at the moment. I'm just a blob.

The idea is that i can't chill untill i can beat everyone so i have to blob to make sure that if selucids/rome or in the worst case both invade at once i can still win.

Cleaning up greece/anatolia is a given but after that i'm mostly fine with my borders, might make a mare nostrum out of the black sea or invade the levant/egypt for ERE borders. If i pushed it abit i don't think this is a bad position to restore alexanders empire from but i'd have to continue pushing my country quite hard to that to come through.

Basileus of the greeks
With selucids pushed out of anatolia our position in the region was set so while some southern warlords escaped our authority it was only a matter of time really. Two regions where our influence were shakier were greece and the euxine. The recent roman war secured our position in greece no doubt but Rome will be an ever pressing threat unless we throw them out of greece. In the euxine we were clearly dominant but remnants of the lysimachids had built a mid sized kingdom that currently was being conquered by Rome something that couldent stand.

I forgot to show what the 2nd honor the legion got was.
Skärmbild (389).png

With the roman-thracian war over we attacked thrace to make sure the rest of it wouldent fall to rome aswell in a future war.
Skärmbild (390).png

In the middle of the war our great king hegesias died. Abit ironic that his father died during the 1st thracian war and gave him power and now he'd die during the 4th and final thracian war. Hegesias brought us from a regional power in northern anatolia to become the arguably strongest greek state in the world, our entire nation mourned his passing.
Skärmbild (391).png

For some reason the pretenders gave up at once, they basically dropped 20 stability for nothing since they still remained loyal...
Skärmbild (392).png

The now king Aratos had spent the last few years studying philosophy and would become known as the philosopher king.
Skärmbild (393).png
Skärmbild (394).png

Greeks have always been in the forefront with math mostly geometry but recently progress has been made in arithmetic math and a new number has been created, 0.
Skärmbild (395).png

The remnants of Thrace are incorporated into the philosopher kingdom.
Skärmbild (396).png

A army just over 100 000 are assembled for a invasion into roman greece to free hellenes everywhere from those itallic barbarians.
Skärmbild (397).png

The governor of macedon, our most important and strongest governor blackmails the crown into giving him an obsene amount of money.
Skärmbild (398).png

While our armies are mighty a defensive doctrine is created to hold the border incase of a invasion to give our armies time to arrive.
Skärmbild (399).png

Rome invades the barbarian tribes to our north
Skärmbild (400).png

We cannot let this chanse slip away we gotta strike when they are busy.
Skärmbild (401).png

Totally expelling the itallics from greece and the euxine is almost more then Aratos could hope for but now it is a reality.
Skärmbild (402).png
Skärmbild (403).png

Athens is but a shadow of what it once was but the final blow came when sinope razed the city to prove that Sinope hold no equal.
Skärmbild (404).png

Antipatrid remains are scattered around our kingdom so Aratos decide to conquer them so they no longer are an issue.
Skärmbild (405).png

With the power of friendship (overwhelming numbers) we quickly crush what few numbers they held and assult their forts to quickly end the war.
Skärmbild (406).png

Just like Athens Sparta is sacked and will be left as a footnote in history about how once a half naked man kicked a persian down a hole.
Skärmbild (407).png

Sinope has long surpassed all kingdoms and proclaim itself as a empire.
Skärmbild (408).png

Big focus lies on our elite soldiers who fought to conquer and keep the empire.
Skärmbild (409).png

Rebellions had long been a issue so steps are taken to give our citizens pride in our empire.
Skärmbild (410).png

We have always been kind to anatolians, our royal line hail from cappadocia afterall and what better way than to accept all differences aslong as they pay tax and don't revolt.
Skärmbild (411).png

A program to build loyalty not towards the emperor but the state itself is started so that our recent internal turmoil hopefully won't happen again.
Skärmbild (412).png

Sinope in 558 AUC
Skärmbild (413).png

Cultural situation, pontic has increased really fast while we conquered quite alot of macedonians in greece.
Skärmbild (414).png

Kinda disguisting culture map for now but you can see how pontic has spread in northern anatolia and displaced propontic and bosporan.
Skärmbild (415).png

Sinope is doing well, and now they are led by a philosopher-king.

Also, zero exists now. Nice.

While our recent conquets have made us strong and our heavy focus on assimilation are starting to pay off there are still quite a few people unhappy to be part of our nation.
Skärmbild (417).png

luckily their opinion don't matter
Skärmbild (418).png
Skärmbild (419).png

And again
Skärmbild (420).png

While our legion is our elite unit and we still rely on merecnaries partly the biggest part of our army are our levies so this will help us have the numerical advantage more often.
Skärmbild (421).png

And the rebellious province is reincorporated
Skärmbild (422).png

Southern anatolia is split between 3 defensive leages we start chipping away at the furthest one.
Skärmbild (423).png

With the power of assauting forts they are overrun before the end of the year.
Skärmbild (424).png

The next in line is attacked.
Skärmbild (425).png

Some minor participants are peaced out.
Skärmbild (426).png
Skärmbild (427).png

Thank god i peaced out those minor nations. Some civil war shenanigans happened and i got kicked out of the war somehow i think?!?!?! We got to kill this minor some howanyway.
Skärmbild (428).png

Another revolt that has failed before they started.
Skärmbild (429).png
Skärmbild (430).png

Roman consul Septimus declared himself dictator for life somethign that tore teh republic in two, we will carefully watch these matters.
Skärmbild (431).png
Skärmbild (432).png

I'm starting to think the anatolians don't like me.
Skärmbild (433).png
Skärmbild (434).png

Last nation in greece is cleaned up, they used to be a argive vassal that dident join their overlord in the last war and hence got left out.
Skärmbild (435).png

Stormed them so fast i couldent send a peace offer yet.
Skärmbild (436).png
Skärmbild (437).png

We are slowly moving down the civic invention tree for more PI gain couppled with other nice bonuses.
Skärmbild (438).png

Living off the land is something our people are used to and we can hence go lightly on our supplies.
Skärmbild (439).png

Attacking the coastal defensive league.
Skärmbild (440).png

Those two defensive leagues fought eachother so to full annex both i had to declare on both at once.
Skärmbild (441).png

Which allowed me to seperate peace out this guy, antigonids had originally taken a fort from them which is why i had to attack the other league.
Skärmbild (442).png

The lycian league is defeated.
Skärmbild (443).png

The rest of the rabble are defeated, now we truly are the anatolian hegemon.
Skärmbild (444).png

To celebrate we decide to subjugate kos a vassal of the egyptians so we truly are the only power in anatolia.
Skärmbild (445).png

After a first invasion into syria where we captured two forts we are beaten back to cilicia where we counter-counter attack and push back into syria.

Our philosopher king lay dead suddenly and his son will take over. Young king Hegesias seems to be a competent king so far but he is young so things are bound to change.
Skärmbild (446).png

The sinopean royal line can be traced unbroken for about 150 years and before that it can be traced to anatolian nobility in achamenid times. If theres any man that can claim the legacy of the anatolians, greeks and persians then hegesias is the perfect candidate as their scion.
Skärmbild (447).png

Kos and cyprus and taken as client states while Egypt is pushed out of northern syria.
Skärmbild (448).png

As is tradition antioch is sacked.
Skärmbild (449).png

Diplomatic situation in 575 AUC
Skärmbild (450).png

Cultural mapmode in 575 AUC
Skärmbild (451).png

While it surely will lead to more revolts it is decided that a policy of assimilation should affect cappadocians aswell.
Skärmbild (452).png
Skärmbild (453).png

Our font dident get too much bigger this time but we cleaned up in greece and anatolia and made some gains against the egyptians.

Unsure where i wanna take it from here, a part of me wanna just invade rome since hellenic religion provinces basically never will revolt against me, it's only all these other heretics. Another part wanna sack diadochi cities like they are infinity stones and alexandria/seleucia are somewhat close and could be done in 2-3 wars each probablly.

The warrior king
Wanting to enrich his people hegesias founded 8 new cities even if three of those were ontop of cities his ancestors sacked (rhodos/athens/lysimachia)
Skärmbild (457).png

To help found cities easier in the future the preperation for future colonies has allready begun.
Skärmbild (458).png

Lydia decided to die.
Skärmbild (459).png
Skärmbild (460).png

Egypt still hold overlordship over andros in greece, something we cannot allow so we decide to put them in their place.
Skärmbild (461).png

After allmost 3 years of campaign alexandria is captured and with it egypt.
Skärmbild (462).png
Skärmbild (464).png

A further push into the levant is made to deprive egypt from these valuable lands.
Skärmbild (465).png

The joke is over kos and cyprus deserve to be part of our nation.
Skärmbild (466).png
Skärmbild (467).png

While our elite force is heavy cavalry much of our levy is light infantry so some effort is made into improving our common soldier.
Skärmbild (468).png

In the east tales speak of a steppe confederation wrecking havoc in persian bactria.
Skärmbild (469).png

While the persians are busy we decide to "liberate" some greeks under their control
Skärmbild (470).png

I knew everything went too well all of a sudden.
Skärmbild (471).png

Peace with the persians is secured so our armies can turn west.
Skärmbild (472).png

The itallics have allready overrun large parts of our european holdings.
Skärmbild (473).png

The reconquest has begun.
Skärmbild (474).png

Slowly but surely Rome is driven out of greece even if they would continue to terrorize our northern european holdings untill the end of the war.
Skärmbild (475).png

A counter offensive into roan moesia put the romans on the backfoot.
Skärmbild (476).png

Our heavy cavalry legion remarks itself yet again.
Skärmbild (477).png
Skärmbild (478).png

Perfecting the comon soldier continues.
Skärmbild (479).png

A good chunk of land are taken from the romans even if it admittedly is quite useless and will likely just be a money sink for years to come.
Skärmbild (480).png
Skärmbild (481).png

An effort was made into perfecting some of the more traditional styles of greek warfare
Skärmbild (482).png

Hegesias the 2nd is deified as a god since only a god could have saved greece fro the savage romans.
Skärmbild (483).png

I intended to take a bigger chunk out of persia and then eat armenia and colchis after but rome kinda fucked that plan. Roman border is quite ugly but i'm honestly not too intrested in illyria but i might clean up the border in the future.

Sinope is doing very, very well.

How did Rome become a kingdom?
