Hey. I'm Queen Isabella of Jerusalem, rightful ruler of God's Kingdom, defender of the faith in these lands and general all-round badass.

I'm also nine years old. But y'know, that's irrelevant. I've been queen since literally a few days after I was born, I know how to be one.

But my dad, Jean de Brienne, says little girls can't be rulers of entire kingdoms, so he's insisting on being my regent. Dad's a fine guy, but he's a temporary compromise and he knows it. Eh, he's pretty lenient anyway, he usually goes along with what I tell him.

We kinda have bigger problems, anyway. For one thing, I don't have an heir, apparently. Dad's been pretty frank with me, if I don't spit out some babies when I grow up, I'm probably gonna be the last ruler of Jerusalem. The next guy in line is some 'Gulgliemo' guy from the HRE. He's kind of a jerk. Thankfully, he's too stupid to kill me, but that doesn't change the fact that if I don't become a baby factory the moment I'm old enough, the HRE is going to own us when I die. Always seemed like uptight, unfun fellows to me.

But there's a bigger problem than that. Of course there is, it's never nice in Jerusalem. Ever read the Bible? It's been pretty crappy for the people here since the beginning.

You see, our bigger problem has to do with our neighbors. The Bible teaches us to love our neighbors, even if we disagree with them sometimes.

Unfortunately, our neighbor is the Ayyubid Sultanate. Which is huge and wants to kill us really, really badly. So I don't think that's gonna work out too well for us.

Yeah, I'm under a lot of pressure for a nine-year old.

Hey! Recently, I was inspired to try playing Jerusalem, and I was partial to Isabella, as she starts as a kid in 1220 and I don't see many AARs starting with female rulers. I've run a couple practice playthroughs and, well, they didn't go too well, but I'm going to AAR this attempt. My only real goal here is basic survival, especially since even at 30 hours, I'm still kind of a n00b. Feel free to follow along!
