Forgot to mention one thing: scorched earth is your friend. The AI doesn’t understand non-standard travel time so with scorched earth you can ensure the battle is where you want it and instead of them dogpiling into a huge battle they can trickle and you can just keep killing armies. My last Manchu game I attacked the force sieging Shenyang and Ming tried to dogpile, I ended up with something like four or five Ming stacks being wiped.

When fighting a superior AI, a great start is always, make the war goal a mountain. Siege it down and scorch it. The AI will always try to free it, you fight repeated mountain defenses to wipe them out.
