Japan in Armageddon

So in my last few games after I upgraded to Armageddon Japan has been doing very well. Japan has been able to annex all the Chinese warlords, Communist China, and Nationalist China by 1938-39.

Is Japan supposed to be this powerful? The Chinese civil war should last throughouot WW2 but Japan just steamrolls them.

If this is normal that is good. The Japanese AI in Doomsday was a bit weak, and I was able to defeat them pretty easily in the Pacific. If the Ai in Armageddon is improved that will make my latest game as the United States much more fun.

If you want even more of a challenge download the DAIM mod. It's just a simple mod dedicated to improving the AI (and making it more logical). Japan will focus even more on a navy, the last game I played as U.S. I didn't pay much attention to the Pacific and by 1944 the Japanese had 23 carriers (IIRC, give or take)....but I wouldn't count on a Pacific blitzkrieg from them. I mean the AI seems like it can be inconsistent in how it plays each game. However, after its Asian steam roller is over and it declares war on the U.S., you can almost count on the Jap AI only taking one trivial island every 6-12 months. The only thing you'll really have to look forward to is the possibility of a mother of all naval battle, the rest is childs play. Oh and watch out for the 1 TP task force off Wake island :rofl: (Dear god, one time they came with not only 1 TP with 1 land unit, but 8 destroyers too!)...Even with DAIM the Japanese AI is awful, but the German AI can be really good, focus more on them.
