Is there any chance of a January 42 scenario? I think it would be a lot of fun to play the usa in just such a scenario. Any of the allies would likely be fun with it.
I mean as a grand campaign starting point. Like we have for 1936, 1938, 1939, 1941 etc... The USA is in a really bad spot in Jan 42, it would be fun to play the recovery imo.I don't see it. The only 1942 scenario is the one on June which is Midway.
Midway is really too late imo. I would hope for one set before the coral sea.Yeah, I'm talking about the grand campaign scenario. I don't think they'll make 2 scenarios in one year.
Creating grand campaign scenarios is a lot of work for the devs so I think we'll only see a 1st of february 1943 scenario as new compared with HoI2.
And I'm sure Paradox will also include 1937 scenario to make it complete.
As I like the other dates Im against 37 - its not neccessary - 38 is enough IMO.
My bets are:
- January 1936 Standard
- January 1938 For Multiplayer
- September 1939 Fall Weiss
- May 1940 Fall Gelb
- June 1941 Unternehmen Barbarossa
- June 1942 Fall Blau
- February 1943 Before Unternehmen Zitadelle, Battles for Gustav Line (I dont know other theaters)
- Jun 1944 D-Day
Are you forgetting the 2nd biggest theatre in WW2 after the Ostfront? July 1937 is the Marco Polo bridge incident. 1937 should be in and in my opinion is more important than 1938 scenario.
I know, that I may have to wait for an expansion, but whenever there is a talk about scenarios I always think that the best additional one will be "Operation Unthinkable".![]()
Here's a screenshot for proof:

June 4th is the begining of the battle of Midway right?
Doesn't prove anything. They just played it to June 4th, 1942.
It would also go against the general philosophy of not having scenario start on the eve of critical "point" battles. The 1944 scenario doesn't start with D-Day (it does start with the Soviet summer offensive, but it's not a situation that could go either way). The only new scenario actually confirmed by Paradox, at any point, is the February 1943 post-Stalingrad one.
Ooo, and I forgot to mention, that I want not a battle scenario "Unthinkable" but a regular one with a little time for preparation, of course.![]()
