I‘m a big fan of EU4 but I simply can’t enjoy this game anymore because there’s too much buggy and unbalanced content. Fixing it would be a waste of resources that could be spent for developing EU5 while creating more EU4 content is an outright slap in the face of everyone who bought EU4 + DLCs.

Let‘s face it, the product cycle of EU4 has already ended, even before the Emperor disaster. When will PDX acknowledge this simple and obvious truth, and officially begin with the development of EU5? After all, its release date should be fall 2021, so there’s not much time left.

As much as I dislike the current state of EU4 (to the point that I still play on a 5-year-old patch version), I can’t bring myself to want EU5.

If Stellaris, HoI4, and now CK3 are any indication, the devs of EU5 would refuse to put in adjustable message settings and remove the ledger. A misguided attempt to make the game seem “less complicated” and “more approachable to newbies” but which actually obfuscates information from the player.

Dude, just read this again, think over it, and then come back online again. I did it, and that’s why I‘m now here and won’t touch any version of EU until EU5 is released.

There is so much left to touch in EU4, and EU5 will only be a thing when the Devs feel they can’t improve the game any more without needing a complete and total system overhaul

I actually feel like majority of people are having fun playing Europa 4 after emperor. The estates, expansion (no more territorial corruption), and mercenaries are all better, and most European nation's feel like they are refreshing to play after all the new mission trees and other content. Bugs are slowly but surely being fixed.

I don't necessarily think it's time for EU5, but I do have some issues with current design vision.
To me, the main culprit is ''asymmetry''.
What I mean by this is either all nations should have ''tributtons'' or none should have them. Either mission trees for all, or none at all. Unique estates for all regions, or no uniques at all.

I hate that only some specific nations get mission trees, which usually provide completely overpowered railroaded effects.
The unique estates that the Indian culture group has are interesting, but I don't understand why only this region gains all unique estates and other regions don't.
Tributtons are available for some nations like Russia, Tribal Federations, Mamluks, Feudal Theocracies. Why these specific nations?

Does anyone feel the same, or is it me being autistic? :p

Not just no, but hell no. I really don't want to go thru another bare bones release and waiting for DLCs to flesh the game out.

While I'm more than a little bit grumpy about CK3's lack of message settings (oddly, the lack of a ledger is bothering me much less than it would in EU), 41 hours of CK3 has done a very good job of convincing me that yes, the OP is right and the best thing to do the EU franchise at this point is release a whole new game.
