Perhaps Paradox, when starting the design process for EU4, decide to reserve Sweden for the very last DLC?Don't you dare forget Scandinavia.
Sort of this. Except I think 1400-1700 would be EU4 and Victoria 3 could start 1700. Also a Cold war game based on Victoria would be great (but communist parties would need to be developed more).I would actual prefer if they released a completely new title game going from the the beginning of the Renaissance (1401) through the age of discovery, reformation and 30 years war, untill the ending of the War of the Holy League (1699) which would still have some feudal elements (Inspired on crusader kings).
And then Eu5 would start only after the Treaty of Westphalia in 1648 and continue untill Victoria's start date in 1836.
Games with a shorter timeframe are more focused and realistic.
I still am only over 400 hours in EU4 and I see at least 2000 more hours to enjoy in this game. I'd prefer to get Victoria 3 first. People complaining about lack of dynamic trading is not "everyone". And checking the player count, maybe we need Cyberpunk 2077 2 first? (Steam stats):
Change what exactly? Both Norway and Denmark barely accomplished anything in RL and you have ALL the tools already tô make them super Powers, including colonies VASTLY beyond what they had.Don't you dare forget Scandinavia.
>Tfw you're a Tier 1 tag and still have inferior NI's than Iceland.Change what exactly? Both Norway and Denmark barely accomplished anything in RL and you have ALL the tools already tô make them super Powers, including colonies VASTLY beyond what they had.
Before claiming there is pushback id like someone to explain why the game needs Pops.
The typical approach to arguing for them is: Its Pops, man, alter!!!11
As if they would automaticaly solve all the problems and im the weird one for not seeing that.
Yes. I can see that they would allow a more granular display of religion and culture than on a per province level.
But ive yet to see someone give solid arguments for why the game needs this.
What people think pops are:
What pops really are:
I guess it was time for the monthly EU5 thread, considering there was a single dev diary that people didn't like.
Regarding pops: let me go against the stream here and hope they don't go with pops for EU5. I've seen people always raging about how the love pops and how it would make everything great again (and solve world poverty while they're at it). However, in practice, I haven't seen many games do it right yet. In practice it's usually a system that requires a ton of fidgeting and isn't clear. In Stellaris for example it confuses and frustrates me greatly.
A general 'population' number attached to a city could make sense though.
Chill, it's just one bad diary with the latest one, there's still south america, sub saharan, and scandinavian rework needed.Based off the reactions in the Dev Diary thread, I think the only way everyone, dev and player, will be happy is to just to have EU5 released instead of constant iterations on EU4's nearly decade long lifespan.
This isn't a shockingly original take, of course. It's just it's the situation is pretty evident now.
No EU5 untill the South America and Sub-Saharan Africa get reworked.
I will die on this hill.
Dont forget Portugal, colonization, mercs size, and a shit ton of other things.No EU5 untill the South America and Sub-Saharan Africa get reworked.
I will die on this hill.
I’d hope most existing missions would be pretty straightforward to port over to an eventual sequel? Clearly exact conditions and rewards would need tweaking but the actual order of the tree and gameplay logic/historical reasoning should mostly stand up.if they will make eu5 then i will expect to see "accrued features" in new game. i dont want another 10 dlcs to see them in eu5. for example the new game;
- should have unique models, gfx for great nations in vanilla.
- if the current mission system will continue, then unique missions for great nations.
- ledger, music player, a proper working console (after ck3 fail).
- great nations music pack.
etc... etc...
if they try to sell these basic things in upcoming dlcs then no i dont want another milking packs eu5.
I'd like EU V to start with the basics and get them rock-solid. 1492-1792 (or whenever Louis loses his head) for a time frame. Focus on the majors: Spain, France, England, Russia, Austria and Ottoman Empire not just for the player experience but also to make sure as AI they can keep the player in check. Set victory conditions so that naturally stronger nations have to do better to win. Add timeframe and nations with each expansion, adhering to the above principles.if they will make eu5 then i will expect to see "accrued features" in new game. i dont want another 10 dlcs to see them in eu5. for example the new game;
