N!ghtY,

I noticed two things in my latest game :

1. UK anchors large fleets in Egypt which are often captured by the Italians, yesterday (after the Italian fleet had been wiped out) they were replenished by 27 ships (incl 8 BBs and 4 CVs). Which is nice for me, as my Ally is now of some use, but it really messes up any chance the Allies have of making it in the med (even with an early US entry into the war).

2. Italy is bad at supplying her forces in Afrika, leading to easy Allied victory. However, since I started supplying the Italians from my Greek base, they are doing very nicely and could only be stopped by the UK with a massive response.

In think in both cases it would be nice to have a slightly better balance in North Africa. At the moment, the Italians without any German help losse everytime, but with German help (early on) pretty much can wipe the board.

I don't quite understand why this is the case. Is it because you were controlling the convoys yourself and could insure that they carried oil, for example?

BTW, I too have profited from the capture of the British Mediterranean fleet, but I took a rahter guilty pleasure from it, as if I had just used an exploit. I usually try to avoid those. Somehow, having the Med. fleet sitting at anchor while the Egyptian ports fall strikes me as more than a little ahistorical.

Basically the Italian AI was not very good at sending convoys with supplies to Lybia leading to a fall in org leading to a rout.

I then sent convoys from Greece to Tripoli with supplies and the Italian troops regained org and then went onto a rampage in Egypt before being driven back by massive (Stony Road) UK reinforcements. Now we have stalemate at the border.
