I am basically taking the attitude of the above poster who advised to wait for the game to come out and then judge it. Based on what I have seen the game seems to have some features to relieve the massive management in HOI1, but I am not too sure if they are enough to make the game *that* much better. It remains to be seen.

Also, don't forgot that there is gonna be co-op in HOI2 multiplayer, so that you and a friend can control the same country, i.e. one person controls the eastern front while another controls the western. This addition should help out a lot with your micromanagment concerns.

Perhaps so. As mentioned, we will just have to see how the game turns out.

As some have pointed out, neither HoI nor HoI2 are/will be TRUE Grand Strategic games. P'dox has fooled us all!!!

:p ;) They might not be true GS (which they aren't), but personally I think I prefer the current state of abstraction (if I had the option of delegating minor fronts and suchlike to the AI), so I'll doubtlessly be pleased with HoI2 too. :)

Speaking of Italy, what happened to Trieste!? I think it's too important to just leave it out...

Yes, that is my only complaint about the map, the lack of a Trieste/Istria province... such a prov would be vital for a post-WW2 scenario too... :(

For the Italian Map I think that for north-east Vicky's map is PERFECT: Trento, Bolzano, Trieste, Udine, Pola, Fiume, Zara, Spalato, etc, etc, etc.

Istria and Dalmazia and Adriatic Sea were very important in that period for many thousands of Italian!!!!!
