Actually not wild, they just wont join the axis. Vanilla HOI new patch 36 scen. Im playing uk and i teched up france/belgium and poland for the 3 years prior to the war. took germs 5 months to take poland and a year to take france. vichy fired but italy wont join the axis. i dont know if its because of the time frame it took germany or if because i moved a couple of armies down to north africa and im scaring them..but they wont join the germs. its late 1940 and im kinda waiting around for them to join because i like to get in the extra exp while taking them out...also with the few armies i have its about all i can do right now. anyway anyone know why they wont join or is there an even i can fire...or how do i load the game as italy and join the axis then reload with UK....
thanks in advance

That's one of the things that makes this game so great - history does not simply replay itself every game. Just imagine how shocked I was when, the very first time I played as France, I see Germany and the SU go with the "Unholy Alliance". I had never even seen that event before, and the first time it happens just happens to be the first time I sucked it up enough to play France. Can you say "French fry"?

Seriously, though, Xizo steered ya right. Be aware, however, that the AI is going to take over your own country during the time you are controlling Italy trying to get it to join the Axis. You will likely have some serious cleanup to do when you resume normal play. Also, if you get Italy into the Axis by the expedient way of having them DoW the Allies, you are in effect cheating, since you will give Italy a dissent hit for something which should not have one. My advice is to just play it out as it happens. If Italy joins, they join; if they don't, perhaps because you have them spooked, then hit someone else, like maybe Vichy. Just my own two cents worth....
