I am playing a game as Germany. I have influenced and allied with Romania, Hungary, Bulgaria, and Yugoslavia. I have also assumed military control over each.

When Germany gets Italy to join their alliance Yugoslavia leaves the alliance and joins the UK and the allies, even though they are a Axis country. Why does Yugoslavia leave to join the allies?

Once Yugoslavia is at war with Germany, I move German troops into all of Yugoslavia's major provinces and the capital. I then try to annex them, but am unable to do this, a couple of days later Romania annexes Yugoslavia with no Romanian troops anywhere in Yugoslavia. How are they able to do this when Germany is not able to?

Thanks for any help

Cuz the territory was owned by Romania not Germany or Romania controlled a majority of the victory point provs.. If you attack with german troops from Romanian territory, Romania gets the land...

The territory was not owned by Romania and Germany controled all Victory point provs, and the German troops that moved in came from Germany not Romania. As far as I can tell Romania has no involvment in Yugoslavia at all. That is why I do not understand how Romania can annex them but Germany can not.

Yugoslavia left the Axis and joined the Allies because the pro-Axis goverment was otherthown in a coup.

I'm not sure what happened in your game. I never bring any of the Balkan countries or Italy into the Axis until Yugoslavia and Greece are annexed. It prevents problems like this and it's not exactly like you need their troops.

I would bet Romania captured the capitol(Belgrade) and thus had the majority of victory pts - You prob didnt notice that they captured it - it is small and up in the corner right next to Romania(it is easy to miss and would look like it was part of Romainia to begin with)...

As Italy I once took all of yugo except the the province you are talking about. Romania took it I could not annex and eventually romania annexed. So I can confirm what you are saying.

there aren't many victory points in Yugoslavia so the capital has the most. This means whoever captures it gets the ability to annex.

Yugoslavia has a coup because the leader was forced to sign the agreement which everybody hated. They were overthrown by the generals and joined the Allies. This is why Greece was also conquered at the same time (why not? If the troops are there...)
