Hi there

I would like to force a war with Germany as Italy on the side of the Austrians to prevent the Anschluss from happening. I can not so far get it to trigger though, and I am not sure what exactly I am doing wrong. Could somebody please tell me the ideal event chain is to follow?

Many thanks in advance,
Amartus

PS: In addition to my original post, I thought that I would just clarify that as far as I know, I am doing everything I can to go against Germany - I didn't even sign the Anti-Comintern! The only thing I am doing that I can see would put me out would be that I do support Franco (secretly of course). This does seem like a small thing to force me to the side of that reprehensible Bohemian lance-corporal!

Hello,

The best way to achieve this is to work your diplomatic magic on Austria and as many of the other central european powers and DoW Germany. Generally, once Germany goes to war France and England aren't too long in joining in opposite the Germans. You won't be part of the Allies (as Italy), but you'll have your own nice block and it is doubtful the allies will declare war on you even if you get aggressive in yugoslavia, turkey, etc. later on in the game.

Don't Ally with Bulgaria!! They are always a pain, you'll find yourself at war with the Soviet Union for no reason!
