Quick question-what factions in 1500 can become Italy later?

any nation that has Lombard as there Primary culture.

Venice, Tuscany, Savoy (might not be around anymore, Milan, Mantua, Modena and Siena)

Okay, and what regions are required?

You must own Rome, Ancona, Firenze and Siena

all the other italian nations speed up the unification event, with exception of Venice(brescia and some others i can't recall the name of) and Sicely (only abbruzi).

Bureaucracy greatly speeds up the event aswell.

Duchy of Athens
Corfu
Corsica
Crete
Ferrara

Mantua
Milan
Modena
Naxos
Parma
Pisa
Sardinia
Savoy
Siena
Tuscany
Venice

Not all of these exist at game's start, of course.
