Could someone with a little know-how tell me what i have to do to unite Italy and with which country. Everything seems like a swamp of tricky events, where France plays a major role in it.

Yes, but that isnt exactly everything there is to it. There are lots of things that France has to choose to make the unification event happen. Thats what im wondering about.:)

No idea.

I worked on it all last night and couldn't get any events to fire(not just Italy unification) for Sardinia-Piedmont. I noticed the Crimean event doesn't fire either. After looking at the event file it seems that France needs to get the whole process rolling by making the right decisions, which of course, they never do. Then you can restart the game or you can go on your own initiative and take the necessary provinces to make the Italy Unification event fire. At least thats what I am reading off the Sard-Pie event file. Unfortunately I annexed every state in Italy in 1863 and it is now 1896. Nothing is happening. Its frustrating.
