Italian focus tree - how prospect for oil works? and building refineries?

Does anybody knows how:
1) prospect for oil works? (just political points?!!)
2) how do you build the oil infrasctruture? (please don't tell me that they are build with political points!!)
3) how much oil Italy will have after full development of the infrasctructures?
4) any more nations with possibilites of developt strategical raw materials?

I hope that someone (developers included) can answer all the questions! By the way, I LOVE the possibilitie of develope some kind of strategical raw materials...

Each synthetic refinery produce 2 oil and 1 rubber. They are very expensive to build and take up one factory slot. How many you can build in each state depend on your technology, with maximum technology you can have up to 4 synthetic refineries in each state, but the states must also have open factory slots for them.

Those are interesting national focuses, but I do not think those particular ones have been explained. I agree with you that it should not just be -- spend PP for 70 days and bam! -- unlock the Libyan oil fields. I hope it is more difficult than that and more random and unpredictable.

In my mod, I have a series of events whereby the Italian player each year gets an option to search for oil in Libya (with associated costs), and for each year that Italy searches, it gets a really really tiny chance to find the oil every day. The odds are such that even if Italy searches for oil every year, the chances are that Italy will not find the oil until very late in the war -- after it is probably too late to help. However, there is always a small random chance that Italy will get lucky and find it earlier and in time to make a difference.

I would want that national focus to just give Italy a chance, not a certainty, to find the oil.

Im assuming this focus makes oil resources show up somewhere in Libya. No idea how many but it would be nice to know.

there are get industry or resources for PP in every focus tree even in the generic ones for the minors. In WWW we defently see it in UK and Commenwealth where he is increasing the industry and dockyards left and right with focuses, So everybody has the chance to do this, so i would say it is balanced.

LOL!!!:D My guess is, that you will get some oil in that province, not political points, by an event, not by building something...

Btw i am not sure if denkt is right with the synthetic refinery tech tree. I guess you get more output from single ones...

I think Lybian refineries means that Italy has a little boost in building refineries there (like cheaper cost or shorter time or both). It seems to be one of the things the devs have done to make Italy more competitive. And I think it makes sense gameplay wise.

I think it will probably be some level of oil resources being found in Libya that can be used in Italy. That seems to be the simplest conclusion With the least assumptions.
