And Jewish organisations (sounds racist, but they often happen to be Jewish) and others around the world are pushing for more witch hunts. Germans fought in WW2 for same reasons as any allied soldier did: Freedom, Fatherland, peace, children, homes, future. Don`t punish soldiers for being born in the wrong place wrong time.

I also thought a good number of them were conscripted. I feel for the poor fellow in Bavaria just minding his own business on his dairy farm when bam, he is served with a conscription notice and sent to the eastern front. I feel for all such people put in unwinnable situations. People will try to survive regardless.

I don't buy it. Why fight so well and so determined in furtherance of evil? If I was conscripted to fight for an evil purpose, I would be looking for the exits, not trying to earn an Iron Cross.

What were you doing when USA was torturing prisoners in 21st century? Did you know back then what horrible things USA was doing? No. So why assume that Germans knew any better?
Germans can be blamed as much as you can be blamed for not doing anything to stop that torture.

I'm not quite sure how we got off topic so quickly, but talking about torturing prisoners is against the rules, even if its not happening in WWII.
