Italian ambition in HTTT

Playing as Burgundy i recived the Italian ambition mission.

What I did not get, however, was conquest casus belli on the nations which i need to conquer. Bug?

It's too good even without a CB.

As Burgundy I like to use that mission to conquer Savoy. 12 BB for 3 rich insta-cores, including one on the Mediterranean. That's worth a stab hit.

For that mission, there is no CB, even as Spain you don't have one, but keep that mission and wait for a CB againist someone like Milian, if you manage to ask them cede 3-4 regions at once, all will become your Core..

Nope, if you read the mission properly, it states.. Any/all .. So if you just capture a OPN like Rome and get a core on one province it is kinda a waste of a great mission, but if you enter a war with a country that has several province there and managed to get several province at once, you gain core on all of them which is much more worth is, and the Italian Peinsula is very rich, fight Milan and get those rich cities and if you are lucky enough, you will accept the Lombard Culture the following month..

This is exactly what I did as Burgundy. Cores on those three provinces, especially w/ the two Universities, was sweet. Well worth the BB. No, this event is almost too good as is. A CB would be too much.

cb for all of italy? i think not.. grab 3 provinces off Naples or if your powerful enough take on milan but your gonna end up fighting the emperor too

Not really, I´m allied to Milan. all I need to do is to declare some stupid war, watch them bail out, end early, beat them up with my brand new CB

What determines which countries get this mission and when? It is an awesome mission, but who gets it?

Nevermind I looked it up.

You need:

year before 1600
10+ provinces
Not italian culture group
Christian
Not the lesser of a personal union
Primary culture in groups French or Iberian, or Austrian primary culture
and not current owner of any italian region province


New question:

According to the map, Trent is in both the Austrian and Italian regions. Does it follow that Austria will not get the Italian Ambition event, therefore?


By the way this event is way overpowered. Just saying

If u get this event, and u do not wish to declare war without CB (stab hit +2 infamy on action), guarantee all minor countries in Italy, AI is bound to attack someone sooner or later. This will give u a free and clean CB and u can even choose what to take and if u wanna take it at all.

I am going to find out if you can get cores on more than one country with this event. Assuming you annex more than one italian state on the same day, I am guessing this mission will give you cores on "any/all".

For the price of insane badboy, you could instantly get cores on all of Italy! This is even more useful if you are Burgundy because you are probably still a HRE member, so the cores prevent you from taking additional "unlawful imperial territory" badboy.

According to the map, Trent is in both the Austrian and Italian regions. Does it follow that Austria will not get the Italian Ambition event, therefore?

you have to release tyrol before to enable the mission , and in HTTT can reannex it easily , either diplomatically or by war
Austria is already really powerful , but you'll need to expand a bit before doing this as you'll need additionnal 4 provinces (look for Aquilea or Hungary for those)
as Austria you even get another mission in northern Italy that gives cores on Lombardia and Mantua

No, after the first peace, the mission trigger is satisfied and you'll get cores on the first peace-lands.

It's actually become more easy with the last patch, as you can annex multi-province countries now.

I agree that this mission really is overpowered since you theoretically can get cores on most of Italy in one swoop. But too many at the office like it

So could it be exploited by selling lands you just got a core on to some nation that can't defend it, then get the mission again, get cores elsewhere, get a reconquest mission and get the lot cored in multiple wars afterall? ;p

You lose cores when you sell a province. Your best bet is to wait for Milan to conquer a couple of minors, excommunicate them and then use a religious war to grab as many provinces around Tuscany as you can.
