It sucks that Albania requires more RNG then Austria in the beginning to have a good start

it really does. In the patches before 1.23 you were guarenteed 8-9 times out of 10 by Serbia meaning you got a 2-3 free provinces from Venice since they always declared war on you. Now you are guarentted by them and get a free alliance from Hungary and Poland(and Aragon). This would actually be better but the Ottomans always warn you meaning you have to attack them to gain any kind of land. The war is usally preety winnable with Hungary smaller Romania and Poland. But 4/10 times one of them doesn`t join the war even if you promise land since they "don`t want any land Albania hasn`t claimed for itself yet". It doesn`t matter if they rival the Ottomans or not it`s still random. I stopped playing Austria since the majority of your power comes from early PUs and other RNG related things like alliances. Why does a OPM need that kind of RNG too espacilly one that is not some worthless land wich got the same ideas as 10 other countrys.

Austria requires RNG?
Depending on the expectation, I guess.

(Hence my recommendation of France. If playing Austria is dismissed as requiring too much RNG... They must have set very high expectations about what the early game should look like. Then maybe only France would satisfy them)

I hate any start that requires rng, but a OPM that borders the ottomans surely deserves to be one of the starts that require most rng to survive.
Your sentence preety much confirms that you only read the title. I was talking about a good start not surviving. Of course it`s easy to survive. You can just wait 40 years to get 10 favours and then attack the Ottomans. But if the only way to "consistently" start your first war is to wait there doing nothing except watch the AI have fun then something is wrong.

Yes, there is something wrong with your country choice. Some starts demand waiting, while others immediate expansion to survive.

There is a reason why the League of Lezhe stayed at its size, it couldn't overcome the ottomans, no matter how many wins despite being outnumbered. After Skanderberg died, Albania was soon no more.

Ming: country wich got a new mechanic in a expansion almost entirely made for it wich requires you to have all of your neighbours to become tributes or blow up like back in the day
Austria: country with no special mechanics on it`s own wich has alot of factors be decided in the first few months of the game
Albania: country with no special mechanics on it`s own wich has alot of factors be decided in the first month of 1450
Tell me wich one of these 2 have the most letters match with each other

League of Lesche was more of a revolt inside Ottoman land, then an actual free country.
But even if we say they were independent they should start in a war with Ottomans.

So just a fact that they are not even at war with them is a lot, and getting guaranteed is a major plus.

I really dont get why Albania or most of the countries for that matter should have special mechanics?!

And also Austria doesnt need special mechanics, as HRE has special machanics, and honestly Austria is HRE.

Why do you decide to mention history as an argument. If Europa Universalis was historical then the Ottomans would never send their entire army to fight you since they were preety much micro managing other wars, Albania would also need a army buffed up to 10000 since that is the amount of men the League of Lezh reported to have most of the time. We would also need to make Skenderberg win every defensive battle since nobody ever managed to take over the fort in Kruje while he was still breathing. Also every single game should make Aragon friendly with Albania, he was a vassal and friend to their king Alfonso.
But you can`t do that cause the mechanics don´t allow that. So stop using historical arguments.

Historical arguments are important for setup at startup, everything after you press space is ahistorical.

And its not really true that Ottos always used smaller armies, as they did siege Kruje with 100k at one point.

And Skenderbeg didnt have control over that many troops. He only controlled his own troops, and the rest were provided by other members of the League when they wanted.

Which brings me to another point.
League of Lesche was not unified country under Skenderbeg. It was a loose defensive alliance of some feudal lords in that area.
Also it didnt represent Albania, as it didnt include half of Albanian lords, and on another hand not even all the lords in the league were Albanians...

Personally I want this game to have a historic setup as much as possible, as that makes role-play more fun.
If I didnt care about history I would be playing Stelaris instead.:D

You could always disable cossacks DLC. Then you won't have to wait for favors.
