No. The Hanseatic league did have a little grip on Denmark and it's economy, but never like a EU annexation.
Hm, I dont know, if Im not completely mistaken that grip was so large that the duke of Holstien even had the power to sell the province of Skåne to the Swedish king Magnus Eriksson.
Interesting - didn't know that.
But from my experience (I lived most of my live in Holstein, and now travelling through Skane a couple of times a year to my new home in Eastern Sweden), this was a smart move.
Ok, ok just kidding. Skane is actually nice, if I could only understand the Skane dialect.
