I fail to find the humor in Denmark getting conquered, it happens in my games all the time. 
However it was a bit odd to see Denmark get annexed by Persia.

Well, it must have had most of Denmark (unless another power took most of Denmark before then).
Dunno, didn't see Scandinavia as the Timurids/Mughal. It's the fact that Holstein did it that makes it funny.
Seeing Algiers take Andalusia and Murcia was a blast, shame they were to incompetent to keep them.

The Ottomans, in 1.05, have now lost smyrma, greece, and macedonia to the papal states. Venice has bulgaria.

Personally I like my current game as Brandenburg where I squished Poland into a little rump, and now all they have are their 3 little poor provinces in the south. And all before 1425... Muahahahaha...

It bothers me too. In many games the Ottomans never really get rolling. It seems that if they can't grab Thrace, they just sort of fizzle out. I understand if a human playing Venice (as above) causes problems....but...when only the AI is in that area, the Ottoman's should form up historically....and...they often don't.
That's the map only 200 years in? Oh my.

wow what a strange game! ur playing at furious right? I've never seen France grow that big while controlled by the AI!

In my current (1.04) game as Mecklemburg, Holstein won their initial war with Denmark and took Jyland and Iceland. Unfortunately for them, they were later conquered by Sweden, though I did eventually "liberate" them.
In the same game, the Ottomans took Thrace, but then got stuffed and lost all their other provinces early on. Venice is very big in this game, and I watched for a long time for Venice or somebody to annex the Ottoman, but in the 1660's they were still around and picked up a couple defecting provinces.
France also annexed Poland in this game, but otherwise aren't doing particularly well in Europe.

I hear a lot of comments about 'furious being for weenies'... lower aggression settings being tougher... etc.
What's this about? Is it that the AI has a tendency to overextend itself in war?

Holstein annexing Denmark is just correcting something that went wrong by accident in history.
That's it. At Furious the ai always overstretch its resources, which of course makes it much easier for the human player.
