One of the most bizarre changes the developers have made to the game since launch has been how they're relegated extermination-type purges only to gestalt consciousnesses and xenohpbic civilisations. One being non-xenophobic doesn't render one non-genocidal. Furthermore, the absence of the caste system is a change that I find very unusual. The notion that some members of one species are granted more rights than other members is a purely sensible position, and thus the removal of the caste system & caste system (residence) is nonsensical. Another change that occurred a few patches ago that I found to be an unusual limitation was the removal of the ability to purge individual pops. What if I'm playing as a totalitarian dictatorship and want to purge a specific population for being en-actors of wrongthink? Historically, I could just kill that specific POP, however I would have to exterminate the entire species... for some reason.
I believe the above mentioned design decisions should be reversed.
