Issue Installing the Paradox Launcher

I have been trying to reinstall the paradox launcher as I was having issues with it (refused to update or reinstall a game.

I have not been getting an error when trying to install it:

There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program run as part of this setup did not finish as expected. Contact your support personnel or package vendor.

It also made a file called cpatch.log in a temp file (timestamps removed) which I added below:

Can someone help me with this?

is this the client launcher (installs from my account and you can launch multiple games from it) or a game launcher (installs with a game to launch said game)
why people think having both called launcher is a good idea...

This one: https://play.paradoxplaza.com/ I think that's the client launcher.

So when I had an issue with it, first I had to go into programs and features and uninstall it from there, and then I was able to reinstall it OK

I am assuming you were online during the installation?

Whats your OS and is it 100% up to date with patches?

Was online, OS is Win 10 Home and is up to date.

Check that your Windows is set up to get good time from the internet; we've seen weird issues when there are time differences between your machine and our servers.

Is there no log file here?

That looks for all the world like a problem with the server at this end, to me.
