I'm playing the Ottomans on Ironman. I have conquered and cored Vienna, it now has 0 separatism. I have 1 stability, I'm at peace and it's 1657.

I don't see the decision to become Western tech. Has anyone seen this?

If it's truly a bug, this one thing might have costed me my WC attempt since I got almost all of Europe in a coalition when I conquered Vienna and I fought a pointless war afterwards that gave me truces with half the world plus it drained me of manpower and cash.

(Yes, I know it was a rather bad decision regardless, but I say: no guts, no glory)

Danzig is no longer a Western Focus city in 1.14.

The decision disappeared. They took it after they integrated Bohemia.

By the way, does anyone know for what strange reason Poland integrated Lithuania instead of taking the decision?

It seems that they don't have Danzig which is needed for the decision. And they might have just gotten lucky and inherited Lithuania upon succession.

Paradox loves to do these things :D
This may be good advice, but impossible to follow and quite ridiculous.
Players should not need to read the games code to do well. Paradox should not make changes of this magnitude without mentioning them in patch notes. :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:
I hope above post about this being an error is correct. Creating bugs of this magnitude without mentioning them in patch notes is quite reasonable

Well, that was unexpected.

It doesn't make a whole lot of sense, but it does add an interesting incentive to make you want to take that decision sooner rather than waiting for some ideal moment. I just wish I had known that earlier in my game, I would have kicked the Ottomans out of Vienna ;)

Almost certainly changed to stop province swapping solely to enact the decision in multi-player. Kind of annoying for single player but as long as you're aware of it you should be able to beat the ai to it.

That seems likely. Kinda wish they'd instead add a MP block of some kind then. "not_number_of_players = 2" :p

Whatta fuk Paradox? This shit ruined our MP game so hard.

It is not reaaly fair that only one player can do western focus, and others can't.
For example if Russia did western focus via Danzig then Ottomans can not do the same via Wien.
That is kind of absurd.

If Plc Doesn't own Danzig they get no free integration.
In this case they got Prague when they integrated/inherited Bohemia. A mix of bad luck and bad planning on my part.
