I'm curious, how does this actually effect the game? What is this modifier meant to do in the first place?

1880 in my Germany game with the fix. No real rebel problems (enacted reforms). Only a few AI nations collapsed due to rebels (egypt and some other uncivs). To me, rebels seems fixed.

Only other nations with rebel problems have been Ottomans, Mexico, and Austria (basically due to them getting their ass handed to them in a war)

This is fixed from what you read in this thread? Or one of the other fixes?

EDIT: Excellent catch. The mistake is indeed contained in the release version. I am posting here a file with the correct bracket. Please post back and let us know whether thie corrected file fixes the Jacobin problem.

I quit my game last night in frustration with rebels in every province of the USA... hundreds of the little buggers! I applied the patch and loaded up my game and PRESTO! they were gone except for a handful of medium size rebel armies. Well done. Seems to have solved my problem.

I edited both the rebel and craftsman files and still got massive revolts as The USA every few months until I let the Commies take over. Since then, it has been as quiet as a church mouse.

I tried this today with Russia. The sight of every single province simultaneously revolting is truly breathtaking.

Clearly this is not the panacea it was hoped to be. :(

The problem here guys is that "I played, I got lotsa' rebels" and "I played. I didn't get much rebels at all" comments are not really reflective because no matter the fixes and mods you can still mismanage yourself into having every province of yours spamming anarchists or communists. And yes, having a deadlocked upper house is also partly your fault.

On the issue of a deadlocked upper house: if you can appoint the ruling party, you can just switch back and forth between the parties repeatedly and increase militancy very quickly to a point where there is enough support for a reform. I don't know if this has been suggested before, but I thought I'd offer it just in case.

After the rebel fix I still had rebellion problems due to inability to pass reforms. With that little exploit I managed to pass the "Landed Only" reform and now it's smooth sailing.

I think the problem might be that the upper house reacts too belatedly to the population's militancy. Or maybe it was a design decision that no absolute monarchy should go down gracefully.

I have tested this fix and i do not see a big difference(albeit, i was running one of the rebel fix mods that are so commonplace now...i think it was by a guy called Pellaleon). Actually i cannot see a difference at all.

My Mexico game by the 1930s had passed every single reform possible, but at 0.5% militancy i am still getting massive reactionery rebellions. I tried letting them take the capital, they rolled back to a presidential dicatatorship but people still kept revolting(and you can't change the ruling party to raise militancy high enough).

It would be nice if revolts only occured when militancy was high enough to supprot reforms for one.

I then read in another thread that oil makes people revolt since you can't sell it and the laboruers go bankrupt. I disabled all oil events for my Italy game, but i am still getting massive rebellions(mainly liberals)....even though i am a Prussian Constituionalism and the militancy rate is 0.5%-1%. Even though my average militancy rate is listed as green(going down) it actually goes UP. I have no idea what is causing it as i do not see massive reform desire according to my government page. Its like 3% for the highest rated reform wanted. Every province on the european Mainland just gets swamped with Liberal rebels every couple of years. Every, single, province.

Any ideas how i can see what is pissing them off? I noticed some of the rubber provinces can't fulfill their needs because nobody is buying rubber so i am working on an automobile factory now but then again last i recalled there is no demand for automobiles as well...

Every province in Europe? That sounds crazier than I've ever seen. Maybe the combination of mods is messing something up, lol. But seriously, militancy rises at a fairly constant rate throught the course of the game, no matter what's happening. I'm not sure why. People keep saying that something is messed up with the supply/demand system, causing weird stuff to happen.

Just to be clear, when i say every province in Europe i mean every Italian province in Europe. My colonies seem to be fine and for some reason Italian Egypt is considered a Colony...
