I started a Brandenburg game today.
Dow on Pomerania. TO dow on Pomerania. I want to be in war continuously so I dow on TO then make Pomerania my vassal.

Strange things are showing up. Pomerania is in 3 wars against TO. 2 defensive wars and 1 offensive war.
I finally made a peace with TO. I have a truce with TO. Pomerania is still in defensive war against TO.
It seems that the overlord(me) of the warleader is not in war. So neither TO/Pomerania can make a peace and that the war would go forever.

The real problem is 1) I cannot annex Pomerania(tooltip saying that I am in war?!? 2) I might go vassalize TO later. I think I would inherit such wierd war against my another vassal and myself?!?

I think this is a bug so I save quit there because I do not want to spend my time in apparently broken game.
Is this bug reported already? Or should I?

Generally you will inherit their wars, I am not sure if this works though if you already have a truce with the party your vassal is at war with tho.

I'm not really seeing how they can be in three wars with TO at once, unless they were both juniors in two of them, but then you should still have inherited those other wars as well. You definitely made it sounds as though TO was the warleader in all those wars, which would explain why you only inherited one, but I really can't think of any way this can even happen.

A save game would be great, ideally from before the peace with Pomerania was made, but that's probably asking too much ;)

As far as i know in is not possible for a country to be in more than one war with the same nation at the same time. So if Pomerania is in three separate wars with the TO then it sounds like you have encountered a bug.

Also, to vassalize someone the target needs to be at peace. The overlord can make the offer while they are at war. There are situations where you will not inherit your new vassals wars, mainly if you are already at war with the same nations as your new vassal. The wars will not merge into one.

I searched before posting. In that case, there is another bug that -5 stab hit happens.

Yes, it seems way too wierd. I just reported with a savegame. But the save before the peace with Pomerania is not available, it is ironman on.

I thought I understand how I inherit the vassal's war but it seems not. Those wars should be merged or white peaced if cannot be inherited.

Is it possible to use the Enforce Peace diplomacy action?
That is a good idea. It may solve the problem but I don't want to bother with a bug.
