Is this game so detailed that you can litterally recreate WW2?

I stumbled across this amazing webpage where it details exactly how many German divisions were on each front at any given month of WW2 and another page that tells you the name of each large warship and numbers of minor ships Germany had during the war and I'm wondering if the game is detailed enough that you could actually build exactly the same number of items in the game that existed in WW2 for example :-

According to this website, in January 1943 Germany had 276 divisions in the field scattered across all it's fronts.

http://www.axishistory.com/axis-nat...-of-german-divisions-by-front-in-world-war-ii

Will it be possible for Germany to have 276 individual divisions in the game by 1943 or does the scale of the game map dictate that the game runs at some kind of ratio say 1 in-game division to 4 real-life divisions? and the same with ships is it possible to build exactly what Germany (or any country for that matter) had in real life or is everything ratioed down by a percentage?

The reason I'm asking is that because I found this webpage and can now see that in May 1943 Germany had only 9 divisions in Africa and they were forced back I'm wondering what difference it would make if I had say 20 divisions there rather than 9 so just want to check that 9 divisions in the game does in fact equal 9 divisons in real-life -if that makes sense? :)

Since "divisions" in HoI 4 can now be of a (more) variable size than in HoI 3, it might be a bit different than historically. But the scope of the game is based on real historical numbers, and you should expect that the starting conditions are very similar to historic numbers, and that the max potential of nations reflects at least the historical max.

In the first WWW stream, the German player surpassed 300 divisions in play, if I recall correctly. He did go on to do better than historical Reich, so could probaly field considerably more units as well.

And since I didn't really answer your question directly: Yeah, 1 division in-game should represent 1 division as per history.

Awesome that's exactly what I was hoping to hear -thank you so much :)
