Is this even possible to beat an Awakened Empire?

Guys I really need you help. The year is 2396 (our galaxy has succesfully beaten the Unbidden already) or so, I urgently need to beat an awakened empire because it's a threat to me and my buddies from federation. But I don't understand how I can destroy them if they cave a fleet almost 500k (!!!) power. My fleet combined is around 50k and federation fleet is around 70k+ My fleet capacity is 723 ships and I have a preety big territory and I have a spaceport on every planet. I am playing a xenophome militarist spiritualist empire. What should I do to win eventually? P.S Don't pay attention to fleet section cause I tried to beat the awakened empire with all my fleet and failed

Here is a screenshot of my galaxy in english. Btw is this okay that I can't see what weapons the awakened empire ships are using? It says my scanners can't detect strange vessels

Got kinda the same problem, in my galaxy only one FE awakened and it is basically conquering the galaxy. It has a lot of subjects and I'm a fnatic xenophobe, my federation eventually has crumbled and I'm alone facing the problem. Nobody wants to cooperate and the other 2 FE don't give a damn.

Here is what I would do:
- make yourself a tributary/vassal of the AFE
- rebuild your fleet
- try to take some territory from your neighbours or eat some minors
- build up your fleet cap
- research some artillery weapons so that you are not defenseless against tachyon lances
or
- equip ballistic weapons and try to jump on top of the AFE fleet after they jumped into a system. Fighting that way should be more in your favor

- I don't want to. In fact, I despise them
- How exactly should I rebuild it then? Forgot to mention - even though my empire is preety big I have some problems with technologies
- This is a good point but will it guarantee that if I eat some empires I would be able to destroy the AFE eventually?
- I have the artillery

I am currently using kinetic weapons. I have a kinetic artillery by the way. And I also forgot to say that AFE is in federation with some of my enemies (3 or 4 governments are in federation with the AFE)

Well in that case I would rather start a new game. Maybe adjust some settings and start fresh.
Winning in this situation, if it is possible, would be too tedious and simply take too long for my taste.

Beating awakened empire is easy, they are just stupid AI. Build a flower of fortresses with traps and buffs and debuffs in the closest system to their borders and using single corvette kite their doomstacks into trap where your fleets await. Also make sure that u have cruisers with plasma and battleships with kinetic artillery and plasma, your 50k then might deal with a 150k stack alone.

A little tip:
Try to start a war with an other FE just to grab their technology. While doing this try to grow tall, I'm currently in a conflict with two Awakend Empires... it looks quite good atm.

Let me see if I find a screen.

Edit found my ironman screen

It would be extremely difficult to beat their fleet with with what you have, completely impossible if it's one big doomstack, so avoid their fleet at all costs. What I've done in my playthrough is I got their doomstack to chase after my transport ships (the AI seems to take priority in eliminating them). I would have their fleet warp after me, go orbit the star, then move away and leave their fleet in the middle of the solar system and warp away, forcing them to go to the edge of the system again and giving me time before their jump drives can catch up. They have tier 4 thrusters, you should have them as well otherwise this won't work.

In the meantime, fight their allies, they can be beaten far more easily and occupying their planets will provide you with a lot of warscore. If you feel confident enough, you can even capture the planets of the AE itself, as long as their fleet is distracted you can attack their planets facing little resistance. Don't go after their capital, it is heavily fortified by fortresses and if you take too long to destoy them the AE fleet will have the time to engage and anihilate you.

Keep you fleets near their doomstack, but not in the same system unless you absolutely have to (other than the bait-transport fleet). If they send reinforcements (a small fleet roughly 10k) or transport ships you can destroy them and research the wreck to get jump drives yourself, that will help with outmaneuvering them.

I've won against them with this method on multiple occasions, but you might need to reload your saved game a copule of times, Timing is absolutely key in making sure their doomstack never fights yours. Last tip, if you click on them it will often say they are following Fleet-xxx . You can split that fleet and leave only one ship in it, they will continue to chase after that one ship and the rest can get away.

AFEs are probably impossible to beat without a large federation, KAs and Lances, and well over >1k fleet cap. Ideally it's why you take on an FE before any of them awaken. It removes a competitor, potentially nets you massive resource boosts (if it's not Ringworld City), and gives you technology for meeting the ensuing AFE.

An equivalent or near equivalent doomstack, but optimized, can beat any other doomstack, even if the other doomstack is an AFE.

I'm fighting a fallen empire with a doomstack of 189K and a doomstack of 238K.... Any sugestions? I have a fleet of roughly 170K rn. Mineral income is 2.2K a month so i can quickly build more.

If your fleet is optimal, you can propably win against them both individually. Just try to engage at short range, that should reduce the losses.

Asymmetric Warfare. Do not engage their fleet. Bait their fleet to one system while you conquer a planet in the other. A trap system filled with many tiny defense platforms will keep them busy for a long time on the cheap, giving you a chance to make some gains. The goal is not to kill their fleet, just keep them busy, so build your defense platforms as cheap as you can, with the cheapest fighter bays possible but maximum shields to keep them swatting flies for as long as you can manage. This should buy you some time to take some wargoals and hopefully be able to end the war with a planet or two in your pocket. After 10 years do it again. Each time you'll be a bit stronger and they'll be a bit weaker until one day you can take them off the board entirely.

Try to win their capital during your first war with them. IMO, you should end the first war as soon as you have enough wargoals to claim that system. It's a huge blow to their income and a boost to yours.

sorry to burst that bubble, but even a system full of the ebst defence fortresses won't stop anyone for more then 10 seconds.

I've seen single defense stations stop people dead though. I'm inclined to take the lessons cKnoorth Korea at a greater value TBH.
Proof or it didn't happen. We're talking about a +200K fleet here, that's at least 10 more or less 20 times stronger then a single fortress Edit: i just constructed a fortress it's 2.9K power.

Very true. If you have 2.2k mineral income, I'd make sure you setup enough production to fully spend that income (i.e. enough stations to eat 2.2k minerals every month by building only 1 ship each at a time) and bury your enemy in ship corpses. Zerg style. ;)

Sure you're gonna lose alot of ships, but it's simple math. In the long run, he probably can't keep upto that kindof production. Who knows, though. Worth a try! (unless your doing ironman.. then it's a dicey call)
