My ruler is a child, and I let him change culture different times (through mentors) so I can create some culturally restricted Kingdoms & Empires (special cultural conditions of creation). is this OK tactics for an AAR?

P.S. I let him return to the main culture before he's 16 in the same way. In this way my vassals are happy.

It is gamey, yeah, because it's something absurd from an historical point of view. Thing is... Crusader Kings 2 (and Paradox games as a whole) isn't meant to be a competitive game. Of course, some people play it as if it were Starcraft, building only cities, using all kinds of gamey tactics and doing world conquests in the shortest time possible. I don't think that's the scope of the game, but whatever. Some prefer to play it as a competitive game, others would rather RP their stats, or just try to represent history, as if they were playing with toy soldiers. In the second example, you shouldn't care about cheating.

Gamey but acceptable :p

Which Kingdom titles? And had they become titular by then?

Kingdoms: Brittany & Wales; Navarra; Andalusia.
Empires: Brittania; Francia; Hispania
(for now, in 3 generations)
Just wanna catch'em all:wub:
and no, they didnt become titular

In my current campaing I go on the landed_titles file and edit the de jure duchies map all the time so I can form the CK2+ titular duchies and keep them in my realm without the de jure duke going berserk about it... Cheating? Maybe a bit. Gamey? Probably. Harm done? Absolutely none, i find it funny.

If thats the game you wanna play on that campaign, then go for it. So long as you dont spoil your fun by making it absurdly easy to win, you dont have to worry about whats cheating or whats not. Theres a reason why Paradox uses text files intead of uncrackable code.

Now if youre talking AAR, that might be different. I think I speak for a large number of people when I say that if Im gonna sit down and read an AR, I prefer to read a non gamey one.

hmm, in my games I never use file editing or console :excl:. I just can't play and see one kingdom (on my territory) that I can't have. It's stronger than me - I must have it at all cost. So -OK. I, as my main 'old' ruler, kill my 'felt in love' wife, get 'depressed' trait, commite a suicide and let my 6-years old child rule.

In a whiletime I make him change 3 cultures throught mentors coz I wanna those special kingdoms/empires!!!! Also I save/reload a lot. Just stronger than me :(

p.s.!
I don't agree that gamey & ahistorical AARs are that bad. In HOI3, I enjoyed a lot an AAR about Luxembourgh where it managed to conquer (alone & neutral!!) South Africa, Australia, New Zealand and all the South America. <-- The best AAR ever.

There is a lot of gamey things you can do with vanilla CK2 or you can go mod and use the console. I use the console commands on occasion to set up interesting situations that I find fun. It is totally cheating, but it makes the game more fun for me.

Unless you are going for a pure AAR or Lets Play, have fun.

Not cheating, but a bit gamey... and not an AAR I'd personally read.

But in single player, you can do as you please (so long as you're honest when you post your successes, as I'm sure more than a few peoples awesome empires were the direct result of save/reloading and console commands).

Another question: is it gamey if I establish a catholic ruler (not me) in ERE just to invade it a decade later with 'pope invasion CB'?
.
.
.
(you know, this will replace all the greek dukes with my own if I occupy all the ERE, to prevent being the 'foreigner'...)

the question behind it is maybe : why the hell a child -even through his regent- is able to create a kingdom ?
If a regent is powerfull enough to create a title then it should be for him/herself.

regent isn't involved at all here. don't confuse regent vs. mentor, they hardly coincide

I know that thanks.
but it should involved, I hardly see a 6 yo child creating a title by himself.
