Is this a mistake? Does anyone else know about this?

(I'll jump ahead and tell you EU2 fans right away: Yes, Paradox has said they plan to produce a 'translator' app that will take the end-state from their EU2 savegames and use it to translate into a 'fantasy' starting-game for Victoria. It's not there yet, but they've said they'll do it, and nobody supports their games better than Paradox. If it's possible, I believe they'll write it.)

Maybe the developing team wants it to happen, but are not sure that it works properly yet? Therefore they choose to keep silent about it.

And I don´t blame them. We sure are an impatient and needy group of fans.

Unless the developers confirm it here, I'll take it as either a slight confusion, or a slight possibility.....I don't suppose it'd be that hard to make such a converter (Paradox has said that it's possible), though of course you'd get very weird results (but hey, that's half the fun....).

What will you do with an EUII to Victoria converter?

According to the Strategy Gaming review, Paradox is planning to provide an EUII to Victoria game converter. Woohoo!
I think this is fabulous, and dramatically extends the replayability of Victoria. I'm already thinking about which countries I would like to groom for Victoria. The two that come to mind first of Mameluke empire and Korea.

The other way I can see using this is as a random campaign generator. I can play a minimalist game in EUII as some non-descript minor nation, then import the EUII AI generated world order into Victoria. Suddenly I have a whole new starting point for all of the countries. Now I just hope Paradox can give us an EUII hands-free game player to play through an entire compaign for met - just to produce a new Victoria starting game.

Actually this was said by someone in Paradox apparently. But no one asked Johan if he had time on his schedule before release

I've already apologized to them by email, but I wanted to jump in here and apologize publicly.

a) I thought this was generally known, totally my mistake.
b) I thought "...It's not there yet, but they've said they'll do it, and nobody supports their games better than Paradox. If it's possible, I believe they'll write it." was hedging enough that nobody was going to be backed into a corner about it.

Again, I'm terribly sorry for the misunderstanding.

Yeah, but it WON'T be as soon as my website editor gets up (he's in Los Angeles) and will be sleeping some time yet. Heck, I'd still be sleeping if I wasn't here in Germany on a business trip.

Well your review makes me and I suppose a lot of other guys wanna buy it even more, so I think that is allright.

BTW about the fourty clicks needed to do something, saw one of the developers mention something about right-click menus.
