I always kind of thought India (and the surrounding areas to the east and west and possibly Tibet) should have been its own map (in the style of a total conversion) and be detailed as a whole map with a roughly equal province count and work put into the mechanics etc, i.e. a "standalone" expansion.

So, what you're asking for is a seperate game with reduced scope which Paradox wouldn't update (beyond the first month) nor release any expansions for?

In a perfect world where it would actually get the attention it would deserve yes. As it stands it feels India is kind of neglected as it is and all it does is slow the game down. I would enjoy a second game but that is mostly because I almost exclusively played in South Asia in For the Glory, and I'd kinda prefer to see it given the care and detail it would get as a stand-alone. (I do understand of course that it would not receive that level of care due to lack of consumer and developer interest.)

I like India in CK2 because it add goales for Persia and the Steppes. And with India I can conquere into Persia. What should I do with a seperate India game? I want India with his relation to the rest of the world. Not a ahistorical isolated India.

India does more than Slow Down. It has many features, plays different from the rest of the map and it has it place in the world of CK2 (as I said... India was more important for Persia than Ireland, England or Iceland).

Fixed, thank you. I've also fixed a few other bugs, notably Kempten moving to Ukraine, as reported in the other thread. This version should be 100% bug-free. I apologize for the sloppy job I did yesterday, it was my first mod ever, and I was in a hurry due to real life stuff.

You have to move the Zunbil holy site in India somewhere else, other than that it's pretty damn good. :)

I have the exact same feelings toward the people that still can't get over the fact that India is in the game and go moaning on the forums.
By the way, India's also going to be in CK3, so you might want to start to deal with it.
Excuse you, but the title "Crusader Kings" was too limiting and is going to be dropped.
It is going to be called "Europa Universalis Prequel Except Without Naval Combat or Trade or Colonization and with a More Limited Tech Tree and Political System."

The devs already said that the name wasn't their decision. It was a marketing decision. The game is not only about Crusader Kings... And CK is more than a limited EU... Or I could also say EU is CK withoput a deep character system, proper inheritance laws and without a complex complex vassalage system... Two different games.

I wasn't referring to an isolated India, more of a "South Asian Kings" kind of scenario with a map starting in Persia and including South East Asia as well. As it stands the map ending in Bengal is just as arbitrary as the map not including India, although this is all somewhat of a conundrum as the map basically can't get any larger without preventing a sizable chunk of the player base from playing. Maybe the best compromise would be to have the map end somewhere in modern-day pakistan or West India, as to have the subcontinent (As well as Hinduism and Buddhism) included but still minimizing the slowdown, which is a problem because as mentioned previously the game now requires higher specs than advertised.

This would cut historical realms... I don't like it to have half realms on the map. It would be stranger then before. Bengal and the Himalaya are better borders than somewhere in Pakistan...

I love the idea of playing in India, but on my current computer, it's not an option. However, I wouldn't advocate limiting other players' experiences just so I can play the same game as them. Am I missing anything particularly interesting in the wider game just by unticking Rajas in the DLC list on startup?

Sorry if this is a noob question, but I am a certified one. I haven't even finished the tutorial yet!

You'll be missing the chance to play Indian nations, but you won't gain anything - unticking rajas doesn't remove india or the the characters in it from the map.

Unticking RoI removes indian faces, which is pointless.
The opening post was asking for a mod without India to improve performance, to which there are links on page 3 and another version on page 4.

Sorry for the continuing cluelessness, but are you chaps saying that the Indian stuff will be calculated by the computer, whether I choose to activate RoI or not? In that case, I guess that there's two bits of good news. Firstly, I obviously can run RoI, and just had an unlucky crash. Secondly, if I did install a India blocking Mod, it would probably run quite a bit better. Certainly gives me more options. Might do the latter, just to make sure I don't run my laptop into the ground.

Excuse you, but the title "Crusader Kings" was too limiting and is going to be dropped.
It is going to be called "Europa Universalis Prequel Except Without Naval Combat or Trade or Colonization and with a More Limited Tech Tree and Political System."

Made it to page 5 until we got onto "it's called Crusader Kings". I'm quite impressed. Much better than usual.

If you don't play in India, good for you. I don't much play in Russia or Scandinavia, but I don't start calling for that to be removed. It was very important in the period, and should be in the game- playing in the east was awful before RoI.

What Paradox should do is sort out optimisation and performance, not remove parts of the map!

Im really not having any issues either (on ironman). I'm guessing its cause i use a separate ssd to run steam games (including ck2). Honestly the only lag i get is the loading screen when its loading the music files. When im playing music already in the background (pandora, my music, etc) it lags for a second at this point....otherwise no significant issues. I do not save to the cloud which seems to of made a difference in my save times for ironman.
And that's all fine and dandy. I would like to point out, however, that people like me (Intel 4820k, Nvidia 650 ti, 16gb RAM, 7200Rpm SATA III) can't play from Charlemagne without crashes and crippling lag by the 1100's. My buddy, who has even better specs, had to give up his Breton Britannia game because of lag and crashes. I get that they can't possible test for every part combination, but I'm really sad that I can't play one of my favourites games because of optimization issues. And if you're going to tell me to buy an SSD, I'd love to, but the funds aren't available while I'm still paying for my books and living expenses. I honestly would pay for a "DLC" that was a low poly medallion on the main screen if it meant they'd release a giant optimisation patch with it.

So the major slowdowns some people are having are mostly a laptop/32bit system issue then?
No. I'm playing on a 64-bit versino of Windows on a desktop that has a quad-core 3.7 processor(Intel 4820k), a Nvidia GeForce 650ti (Getting a bit older, but I can still play most modern games on medium to high), 16gb of ram, and a 7200rpm 2 terrabyte harddrive.

The problem is not ALWAYS people's systems. While I acknowledge that people playing with inherently underpowered computers suffer it the worst (and it's not good on Paradox's part to not give updated system requirements), there are people with great computers suffering from it as well.

Which is even more evidence to show the issue is more shoddy programing than India in general.
