Let's say as France I don't want to colonise myself, so I vassalise Brittany, and they take Exploration and Expansion ideas. Is there any way to make Brittany colonise specific "empty" spaces, and/or specific colonial regions?
Is there anyway to make vassals colonise certain provinces/colonial regions?

Yes, that's why I asked the questions.
Britanny had taken both Exploration and Expansion before I vassalised them. However, even highlighting provinces (that are uncolonised) of interest makes not much of a difference).
