It's easier than ever to keep your subjects placated as the Timurids. Enact the nobility privilege strong duchies to get an instant -10 liberty desire, then you can use an government action to get another -10-15. Build your troop level up to max, and improve relations with vassals, you can also placate vassals at the cost of prestige in the vassals tab.

Playing Timurids is honestly quite easy.

1. pass the Nobility privilege that lowers liberty desire in subjects.
2. Use the iqta interaction that reduces liberty desire.
3. Set all excess diplomats to increase relations with vassals, especially the largest vassals like transoxiana
4. Declare war on Ajam for cores immediately. Let your vassals do most of the fighting and preserve your manpower. Winning the war is nice but not strictly necessary, more important is to drain your vassals and come out of it yourself relatively unscathed. Only commit your forces if you know you can win with almost no losses. Let your vassals take all the risks (set their behaviour to aggressive or siege).
5. Build up the size of your army as much as possible.
6. With the above you should at most have one vassal go rebellious. Sacrifice prestige for liberty desire where necessary.

Even if sharukh dies early its not a big problem as vassals can't declare independence while you're at war, and you can drag out the war with Ajam as much as you like. Once you make it to 1454 just integrate transoxiana (you start with cores on almost all your vassals lands, so it should be instantaneous) and you should have no further risks of rebellious vassals. If you can though try to keep some of your vassals around as they're cheap to integrate and you're stronger with a vassal swarm.

Timurids is actually probably one of the least RNG dependent starts in the game.

Yep, one of the least RNG-dependent starts in the game, huh ?

Did all of those, still got them rebellious. Since they were rebellious, they just sat in their territory ! Very cool man, very cool.

Timurid are easy for a player. Develop transoxianna, rush miltech and buid to forcelimit. Use strong duchy and iqta interaction. send a diplomat to transoxiana and lauch integration ASAP.

You can also keep transoxiana and integrate afghanistan, so you can use your strong vasal to invade india (do not form mughal before integration of your vassals you will lose your cores). Depend if you prefer Yuan ( integrate transoxiana first and rush east) or Mughal (integrate Afghanistan first and rush india).

Also declare a war on Ajam on december 1444. Don't be affraid of debts once the situation will be stabilized you'll have a lot of time to fix everything.

By the way if you have +200 with your vasal they will have the friendly status, they will be disloyal but they will not wage war against you (unless they are call by another vassal in an independance war).

In sub optimal scenario you can also : turn some of them into millitary march (-15LD), stay at war with Ajam, rush influance, win an independance war or just give up on one of your vassals.

Once you own india with mughal you are unstopable and have one of the most OP mission tree, one of the most OP mechanics in the game (culture assimilation) and one of the richest land in the world. Also mughal idea are really strong.

Eh, everything he said had nothing to do with RNG. You can always just develop to get ONE of your vasals loyal, and then instantly integrate them, for reduced liberty desire on the other ones.

If you can't handle the Ajam war because of disloyal vasals, you can always just release Transoxania and then declare a reconquest war later.

I have also tried to follow the normal route of fighting Ajam right away but as others have noted if Shah Rukh dies the vassals stop contributing to the war. So the war weakens you but not them and you end up in a downward spiral.

If you want a really easy way out: release Transoxiana and ally them. All your other vassals liberty desire will drop to single digits because of the power differential. Yes you've surrendered 127 development in cores but you are now completely stable with a powerful ally between you and the steppe hordes and can go straight for India to form the Mughals, after which it won't matter.

There are a number of other tricks to lowering Liberty desire that I didn't note in my first post. If you do some combination of the above, and Shahrukh doesn't die in the first 6 months, you won't have any problems.

Honestly, the game has too many tricks that enable you to lower liberty desire. It's too easy to deal with.

Guys, why is every onde helbent on a risky war with ajam ?

In my opinnin the most stable opening is to hire 2 merc stacks, build 3 troops and then go and raid india (mission from 40 force limit) this way you can open even with your king geting killed on VH im the first jear

Since u rly don't need your vassals to fight kashmir, sirhind or delhi

Because Ajam has your cores (so reclaiming them is "free" both admin points and ae wise), and the war has almost no risk involved. Ajam is weaker then you even without your vassals, if you wait Ajam might ally someone powerful like the ottomans or mamluks. Finally, you have no powerful neighbours who could attack you while you fight the war.

It's one of the least risky opening wars you can do in EU4.

Yes, you savescum
Reconquest war on ajam to get cores, build up army and improve relations, use the Muslim gov interaction to lower liberty desire. Then integrate tranny, fars, khorsan as you have cores on all their lands so integrate in 1 day. Can also seize land from Afghanistan and integrate until they only have land that's your cores

That's been changed, the Timurids have a core on Roh now. Besides, there's a better way to do this.

Integrate 1 vassal, and on the next month, integrate three more. The -30 opinion hit is pretty manageable to keep every other vassal above 190 relations, so might as well. It's a much stronger strategy, IMO. Maybe with a lot of opinion bonuses you could compensate for a -60 opinion hit, and thus manage to get all 5 vassals integrated pretty fast, but I haven't tried that out.

? Why would you integrate 1 per month? You're an empire so have 3 diplomats, set to integrate all 3 at once. You have a core on Roh now but I swear there's still 1 province that doesn't have a timmy core?

Also it's pointless to integrate sistan, it's useless land and uses up gov capacity which you have in short supply pre forming mughals
