Like in the title, I've been playing EU3: DW since almost two years, I also have vanilla EU3 on steam and I wonder if it's worth playing? Is it harder? Easier? Would it be like a different game?
Is there any point in playing vanilla EUIII if I have DW?

Playing the release EU3 (V1.0) after Devine Wind (V5.0) makes not really sense as it is more than one step backwards, felt strange for me to look at V3.2. again. Some game mechanics are different (or nonexistent) and it is clearly easier. Played myself V1.0 (demo) and V.3.2, had no problems with invading my bordering countries here but failed at V5.0 completly at the beginning.
You lose a lot of features so it's not really as fun. It would be much easier though if I recall correctly. Badboy/Infamy is almost completely negligible. If you really want a different/improved experience... maybe time for Eu4?
EU4 is pretty different and improved in some ways, but i miss also some features making me prefering EU3 so far.
I still sort of like playing IN (3.3?) but it is a simpler game. The challenge is that even with missions you take stability hits for attacking other countries with the same religion. (Conversely you don't need a CB to attack heathens iirc.)

Maybe someone who has never played the game might find the early version useful for getting into the game. The game is quite complex to learn.
I actually like HttT better, but I know that's a minority view. And DW seems more stable than HttT.
