Hi all,

The question here is that I like to conquer big countries through PU -longer time, easy way-. And for that you have to marry them. Here in 1.5, even though you continously set up your relationships with big powers to 100 improved relations -the rivalry atittude does not change, even though you put yourself in an enemy of enemy position. If they consider rivals it is impossible to marry them. Is there any way to change the attitude?

Year 1543. France does not exist practicaly. I am Austria as Emperor with Poland and Bohemia annexed. Spain loves me. But it is impossible to marry Denmark -all Scandinavia- or a large Mucovy, and it has been this way in the last 50 years. GB is still England because I have two Scotland provinces as a vassal.

Making a country stop being your rival is quite difficult. It is mostly based on your relative strength and a sense of competition in an area. So the best way is to outpace them or weaken them enough that they no longer think they have any chance of beating you. Sometimes you get oddities like OPMs rivaling you, though.

What I'd like to know is how to make an AI go from cordial to friendly.

I can't help for rivalry, I have little clue myself. You can, however, change AI attitude at times - from neutral to friendly by improving relations alone, then it opens much more diplomatic options.
