I would say no. Poland-Lithuania has been exceptionally weak for the first seventy-eighty years or so when I tried playing them the last few patches.

I could be wrong, and then you would have a huge power spike. Remember, you can't use the decision to annex Lithuania with the click of a button if you have other personal unions.

I wouldn't go for it as you are. You have no manpower and will almost certainly self destruct going for that. You have until Loius dies to take your shot at France, or a minimum of 14 years. Try to weaken their alliance chain with proxy wars while you recover. And understand that you will probably eat a truce break to get that war, since France will likely break the royal marriage after you claim throne if you don't keep their alliance.

Sure, but go for France.
1) Take out Ottomans from war asap. Probably concede defeat or even cede/release some Moldavian lands. Maybe release Ruthenian minor.
2) Then play defensively and do the same with Castile after 5 years.
3) Eventually, Burgundy/Austria/England, maybe even Pope will come for France.
Besides, some Great Power may even join you

you can claim throne until weak claim king takes throne and produces strong claim heir.

I would wait, and be on the lookout for a chance where austria or ottomans/castile dishonor war (unlikely in new patch as their debt will be non existant).

but you never know.

up to you if breaking alliance beforehand for a chance like that is worth it.

What is the point of keep playing if you get a personal union whith Lithuania, France and Brandenburg? We'll I guess if you go for a world conquest it would make it easy... It's just a personal opinion.

Scotland won't do much, but how strong is Castille. Did the Iberian Wedding fire already for example? Can you get someone to join your war? You could perhaps even ally a nation like Burgundy if it's still alive and promise him land.

They changed that a few patches ago.

The great thing about weak claim heirs is that you have some time to get things in place. Either or both of those wars are winnable and worth going into debt for. Keep an eye out for when a key ally will dishonour. Maybe you can even ally the Ottos yourself and get into some other with on their side thus preventing them fro defending France.

Also who are your allies? it's worth promising land and betraying to get a valuable PU.

my allies are France and Brandenburg (plus Lithuania PU, maldovia vassal, and teutonic vassal).
I'm rivaled by Denmark Austria and Muscovy, so my only chance of a new big alliy is castille. Pope ate most of the independent Naples. Aragon is two provinces in a PU with Castille. England is losing to Scotland.

Ottomans are pissed at me because I ate Byzantium before they could (Maldovia will claim Constantinople if you set it as Province of interest, and then you can full annex Byzantium) so no chance of making friends there either.

And my king died unexpectedly and my new one came from the last dregs of Saxony, so the whole thing is moot now q.q
