I give up.. I never, ever said anything about PUBLISHING meaning "actual fiction". By actual fiction I was referring to the writing of a story in the traditional sense of the word. AAR's tend to cover dynasties and stay true to the game, whereas "actual fiction" would be to go in-depth and explore character's personalities, their actual day-to-day or week-to-week or so interactions to create a plot with as suggested before, a goal to work towards and such. So to whomever was upset about that: you completely misunderstood, you needn't be upset.
And to the person who was saying "you can't write a proper novel without planning it firmly and thoroughly" - You might not be able to. For some people, it just doesn't work that way. Everyone's different, and I've had no trouble nor lack of success with the approach of winging-it. It doesn't mean I just sit down and write until my head is spinning and "see what I've got" but so far there's been no problem doing it all from the mind.
In any case, thank you all for your (some rather quarrelsome) replies, and goodbye.
