Playing as a republic after a long period of monarchies or tribes and I'm very surprised by the event

I have the choice between super positive outcome (+5 rep trad. and -2 corruption) and a super negative outcome (-1 stability).
I mean, what's the point? Is there really someone to choose the stab hit?

The funny part is that AI as 45% chance to select it XD
