Is there a "Sandbox" where I can prepare posts without the risk of prematurely posting them?

I want to create an AAR, but such posts would probably take like half an hour each to construct. I have had problems with accidentally posting large posts before I have completed them, and I would like to avoid that in the future. Is there a place where I can create a post without the risk of accidentally pressing enter at the wrong time and posting an incomplete mess?

If not, is there some other place or software that I can use to safely create posts before I put them on these forums?

In general notepad is indeed a valid way, however for longer posts might become difficult to manage.

Since the switch to this forum, it's possible to copy paste your text, including imagery, into a post by simply copy pasting or even dragging the text in the post field. I have not tried it yet myself, however when you for example use word to markup your post and then copy paste it into the text field (Since this text field is a WYSIWYG ala Wordpad style text field/editor). Note that this only works for font size, bold, italic, underline, lists etc. But not for colors.

You could also write it in emacs; that is what I have done with long posts back in the old forum where it was possible to reply as you read.
