Is there a possibility for a console version of EU IV?

As I mentioned in the title I am wondering if there is a possibility to see EU IV on any of the consoles? For example WII U that has got a good indie marketplace would really be nice to see a game like this on there! Obviously, I will get it for PC (there's no way I'm missing out on my favorite strategy game!) if not, but, I would definitely get it for both console and PC especially if it's WII U! With it's gamepad possibilities with menus and generally handling with the game I think it would fit very nice and open up for a new market. Let me know what you guy's think and it would also be really cool if any of the devs could give some hints whether they like the idea of porting the game or not! Cheers :)!

I somehow doubt that the investment would ever be recouped. So my guess is no.

Although I believe Paradox has openly flirted with the idea of a tablet title.
I think that because of the general lack of good strategy games on consoles it would be profitable not only because that is a strategy game but that it is a grand strategy game with a lot of depth to it. It would be nice sitting and playing EU 4 on WII U's gamepad with friends especially since they plan to improve MP. Although, I agree to what you are saying that it is a risk.

I think EU is pretty unplayble without a mouse, i remeber that there where plans to release EU2 for the Nintendo DS, but it never happenend.
Really? Wow, that's a shame, that would have been awesome! As with the tablet idea, I think a mobile version of EU would be awesome!

In time of convertible tablets unnessessary.. wait 2 years and every tablet convertible for 400 euro will Play eu4
If you can spare 1300 Dollars or euro i can even recommend you sth:
http://shop.lenovo.com/SEUILibrary/...-category-id=89ECFD45CA0654775864CDBAD2606AC7

I Play on it myself.. ist not good for playing 3D games but enough for Hoi, vic, eu and stuff...When you have the x230t you can even Play CK2 with the digitizer just fine, if you are used to it. Although its still more fun with the mouse.

I think there's a bigger problem then simply the interface. It's also that consoles have underpowered processors, and would likely lack the horsepower necessary to run EUIV at any reasonable speed. Consoles tend to be optimised for graphics, not calculations, while PDS games are the opposite.

At best you might see something appear on a tablet, where the interface is more compatible. The lack of processing power is still an issue, but one that will likely be resolved in the near future.

Current generation consoles are getting a bit long in the tooth, anyhow. I think, maybe, the Wii U might have the best chance of making a playable experience. If I were Paradox I'd hedge my bets on ad-supported EU3 (with graphics from before Divine Wind) for Android and iOS.

I wouldn't recomend it. It's a typical pc niche, I don't think the console public would pretty much be interested on it even if you somehow made it work.
And besides, the requirements ain't high, so why not just play it on a pc? I have a fairly old pc and it handles CK2 quite well, so I just wouldn't buy any paradox game for my PS3.

And one of the most important thing (up to now at least): CONSOLES = NO MODS!

When touchscreens become more popular and common maybe. Until then, nooooooooooo.
Generally I have difficulties with touchscreens myself but I like the one on Wii U it's very accurate and easy.

think there's a bigger problem then simply the interface. It's also that consoles have underpowered processors, and would likely lack the horsepower necessary to run EUIV at any reasonable speed. Consoles tend to be optimised for graphics, not calculations, while PDS games are the opposite.

Yeah, the CPU and RAM is lacking in current gen, completely agree! Though since i.e Wii U has shown potential it tickles the idea of having it on console too =P.

Why don't you just hook your pc on your TV?
At the moment I am playing on my TV, but, it wouldn't be the same as having a tablet in your hands and laying back relaxing with a bit of EU 4 ;).

I wouldn't recomend it. It's a typical pc niche, I don't think the console public would pretty much be interested on it even if you somehow made it work.
While I do believe it currently is PC niche I think that a lot of people would purchase it for consoles too, whether you have never tried it or if you already own it on PC.

Now I haven't read up on any of the other consoles and their markets, but, according to developers using Nintendo's e-shop it's very rewarding. Also as s1234567890m said; "Guaranteed that the game will run, no need to worrk about drivers, dxdiag, OS etc". I think that it would be more stable if made on consoles. I just want to add that I'm not a fanboy of any sort, I just like the idea of playing it on different platforms (and would pay good money for it too), whichever that platform might be that I own at that moment. Especially when I have friends and family that also love playing EU 3, but can't handle the PC version because of the habit of console controls or lack of hardware to play on.

This would be pretty sweet on the Wii U.

I remember getting Command and Conquer and Sim City on the consoles, a lot of us probably did. I think a niche market could be there, but I wouldn't expect to see sales rivaling the PC version.

I would say you just gave the #1 reason why EU will never be on a console.
You have to ask yourself, "Why aren't there good strategy games on a console?"

Because, we like to go and check internet, while pausing the play, and see something on the forums, or check some history pages. And we want to post some screenshots, etc.

I think it is a risky investment. PI has no experience porting game to console. If you want to penetrate into a new market you need to be really sure that your product is suitable and would appeal to the consumers there. But the current trend show no indication that it would work or to justify the resources needed.
