Is there a non-Steam way to get the latest patch through Paradox Interactive?

Hello,

Can someone provide a direct download link to install the latest patch? I have steam, but steam does not always cooperate with me and has trouble recognizing that I have purchased other expansions from Gamersgate, even when I manually added them. In the end I stopped using it from Steam, and would prefer not to do so unless absolutely necessary.

It is absolutely necessary, I'm afraid. One of the whole points of moving to Steam was not to have to build multiple versions of patches.

I'm a little unclear about your problem - some DLCs you bought from GG are not recognised by Steam? Is that even after you enter the activation codes? Or are those codes failing? We can almost certainly help, whatever the nature of the issue.

But none of that has anything to do with patching, which is identical regardless of what your DLC status is. If you just run up Steam it will patch CK2 to 2.1.6 automatically.

However 2.1.6 has been out for a couple of months ... is that what you meant by 'latest patch'?

Um, what? If you bought the GG version of CK2 you get the Steam version for free - you know that? No-one said or thinks that you don't matter.

Yes, because it's utterly inconceivable that somebody would NOT want to bind themselves to that most wonderful and praiseworthy of all DRM systems! But enough of that, there's some nice games on gog.com that I want to buy...

Paradox games do not have any DRM. Steam supplies the ability to add DRM to games but we do not use it.
