Like I'm kinda imagining that in addition to switching everyone back to Wormhole Tech and changing species art, it would prolly need new civics, ethics, and species traits, like the way the Stsr Trek: New Horizons mod does.

Has anyone made something like that?

why wormhole tech? there's some ships that do that, but B5 also has gateways for sure.

Side question: what mods break Ironman? Coming back after a multi year break. I remember unlike other Paradox games even some graphic mods (example: ship sets, unit models, leader portraits) do. Do namesets? Or music?

Wormhole is like a "primitive gateway." Also simulates the way that theyd talk about "planet x? That's six jumps from here!" And wormhole works by having to build a station from which you jump around. So it's quite comparable.

Then Gateways are the next evolution of that, effectively allowing single jump travel but only between those Bigger Jump Gates.

Then actual Jump Drives are the final evolution of it. Thry talk in the series about how only advanced ships with lots of power can generate their own temporary jumpy wormhole.

So, in my mind, it's like a perfect fit.

The Babylon 5 jumpgates do have a different mechanic from the Stellaris gateways and wormholes, in Stellaris distance doesn't matter when you travel through a gateway while the time you have to stay in the Babylon 5 hyperspace is depending on the actual distance between the jumpgates and on the speed on the ship travelling through it, you even have to navigate through the hyperspace. A Babylon 5 mod would need a completely new mechanic for this because it is not a direct point to point technology.
