is there a 'end' to this game?

I'm a major fan of Sim games, like Transport tycoon and the like. But I'm just curious if anyone has found a hard end date to the game after 2020, basically I'm not looking for a ending to the game I just want to know if I can truely play forever in sandbox mode and never hit a year limit. For example I'm thinking I can pretty much play until like 20XX or something, but I could be wrong and get some sort of victory screen by 2050, and yes I know either way that is a LOT of gameplay.

Heh, didn't think anyone really has played that long, a year alone takes what, an hour? But if anyone does know, either from looking at the code or playing, I'd like to know if at some point the retail version I could hit a wall, or perhaps just play for endless years. Maybe a dev could give some input on this?

I assume there's no end. City might stop growing, buildings changing and you don't get new vehicles but I think you can roll forever...

This is what I'm hoping for, I don't expect new vehicles or the city to get bigger, That is all fine with me just no hard set endgame date.

I'm afraid there is an end to the game. From poking around the script files, you can't buy new vehicles after the year 9999. Sorry for the bad news :-(

year 9999? well at least its not like 2050. I doubt ANYONE will ever play long enough to hit January 1st 9999. lol
